OK, so I'm in Daryl's Tomb and I'm fighting Dullahan.
It's the traditional beat-the-crap-out-of-each-other-fest, until Setzer casts slot one of the times. It comes up BAR-BAR-BAR. My eyebrows go up. Random Esper attack, don't hit that very often. It's Palidor's Sonic Dive (points to pretty bird in my avatar) and he takes us all up. A turn or two goes by. Sabin comes down. Celes comes down. Edgar comes down. Setzer doesn't. While I'm wondering where the hell is Signore Gabbiani, suddenly he gets the option to go again. Even though he's offscreen. Puzzled by this, I do Slot again, and get Diamond-Diamond-Diamond, the 7-Flush. Suddenly Setzer appears from the right side of the screen, casts 7-Flush, and leaves again. This happens again. And again. And again. Everytime, a 7-Flush. I become giddy with the realization that for this battle, at least, I am immortal. None of Dullahan's attacks can do squat to Setzer since he's never onscreen to be hit by them! Anyone else ever experience this? -------------------- |

It sounds like you came across this baby:
Quote Setzer resents bird-hating comrades, sneaks off - Whenever Setzer/Gogo lands from a jump executed by their Palidor spell from 3-BAR, they take a step backwards that they aren't supposed to. One of a few formation error bugs. Borrowed from Master ZED's Bugs and Glitches Guide at http://masterzed.cavesofnarshe.com/GameDocs/ff3bug.txt The Guide mentions nothing about invulnerability and complete off-screen-sneaking, so do expand if this isn't what you experienced. -------------------- |

Well, that's what happened. Setzer just totally walked off the screen and couldn't be hurt, not even by any of Dullahan's fullscreen attacks. He would pop on to do 7-Flush--which he got EVERYTIME--and then leave the screen again immediately, so there was never an opportunity to be hurt.

Are you absolutely sure Setzer wasn't hurt? The bug is one of the many formation errors, and that doesn't account for invulnerability. It's just that Setzer stands too much to the right and you can't see him anymore. Are you sure it wasn't just Setzer's damage not appearing because that too was off-screen?

Is this bug really one of the few, because this game has so many rumors, glitches, and bugs spreading around the net that i wouldnt be surprised if this was a secret additional perk to the 3-BAR method
Glitch or no glitch, i still think what setzer *did* was awesome. -------------------- <DrkMagimaster282> MWAHAHA.
