I know this isn't "Square Enix" but I was curious to hear if anyone has ever played Dark Cloud 2. I just bought it for 9 bucks and started a new game the other day. Is the story any good? Is there alot of things you can do (I HEARD there was), and is it WORTH 9 bucks? tongue.gif
I'd appreciate any opinions... as well as hints ohmy.gif

It is completely worth nine bucks, and it's an excellent game; one of the better action RPGs for the PS2, in my opinion. The story is a little bit kiddie, but the good artwork (cel shading that I can actually enjoy) and the quality of the voices and storytelling make it more worthwhile. I got it last spring sometime for something like fifteen bucks, so nine is quite a steal.

Anyway, you want hints? Guard a lot in the dungeons, and use targeting and flipping as strategically as you can. Try to level up your projectile weapons, melee weapons, and Steve roughly equally, and find EVERY SINGLE GEOSTONE in each dungeon so you can max out the town. When you're building up weapons, upgrade them at every opportunity but hold off on synthing them right away. There are a million or so faqs online about the ins and outs of synthing, so if you want really awesome weapons check one of those. Oh, and once you get Monica go back to Palm Brinks and talk to everyone to see what you need to do for some recruiting; Max's dad and the Weapon Shop owner give you new weapons that you have to work on if you want to recruit them.

Ummm... that's a decent batch of randomly assorted starters. Have fun with DC 2.
