Moderator Edit This has been added to the gallery, thank you! -R51 This piece only took me a half hour worth of work. I had been in an utterly bored mood. Feeling a bit out of the ordinary, I decided on an anime-ish piece. To go with my out of the ordinary mood, I went with the subject jiggle queen Valvalis, fiend of the air. The part that took me the longest was her bikini outfit. I had originally drew her with no clothes on, because I figure I'd resolve it once I started Photoshopping it. The first time I drew her bikini, there were no straps on her clothes. This presented a bit of a problem with the bikini bottom, because it looked a lot like something else (especially given the irregular edges of the bikini). I had to edit it because I didn't feel right about it. The bikini top was left as is. What strikes me the most about this piece is the face. Even while making a conscious effort to produce a typical anime jiggle girl, I gave her a very Kame-esque face and expression. I guess I had to put my stamp on my drawing, or else she'd just be one of the many anime jiggle girls. Oh. My. God. There isn't an emoticon that rightly portrays my feelings towards that awsome picture...although this comes close:

Very, very nice! The lines are crisp, the coloring is great, and the shading just blows my mind away. That's some really nice art right there.
Two thumbs up. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

1) Shoulder slant doesn't seem to make up for that much lop-sidedness.
2) Head looks like she belongs in Zelda. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

You disappoint me with such pieces, Kame... especially for someone who used to talk about how much she hated this kinda stuff...
![]() ![]() Actually, I think her facial expression makes up for the rest of it... at least she isn't looking like the 33 million other anime pieces out there like this. Great work on the coloring, too. ![]() -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... Soldiers of the Empire: Disciples (release pending) * In Progress/Undecided... Yeah, I got the impression you were no fan of anime. Oh well, doesn't take away from the fact its a good piece. And in 30 minutes!? Man, I guess I'm a bit slow or something. I'm sure something like that would take me a couple hours.
I don't think I need to point out any mistakes, looking at the time you did this in. Great work, good form. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Hmm... nice...
However Kame, there's something I'd like to ask about this one. Could you please post what it looked like originally? Errr...
SilverMaduin: I looked around, and I didn't save a copy of the black and white drawing. Also, I kinda threw away the orginal drawing. Sorry dude. Rujuken: Yeah, I am notorious for not putting much time into my fanart. If you want to see my time in my work, you'll have to see my actual 'real' art. This last painting that I did, I started in November 2004 and didn't finish till early April. DP: Look at this..... I appreciate the comparison to Zelda. ![]() This post has been edited by Kame on 26th April 2005 22:42 -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." Quote (Kame @ 26th April 2005 18:41) DP: Look at this..... Weird. Before I saw the one with lines, it seemed the left (her left) was a bit lower than the right. Now with the lines, it sort of looks like the right is slightly higher than the left would be, had the shoulders not been slanted. It's still off DP. The lines don't take into account the bend of the spine in the pose, or actually lack thereof. The upper body is straight up and down with no noticable bend one way or the other, so the breasts shouldn't bend either.
From what little I've seen of your paintings Kame, you could prolly become a very well paid artist if you start consentrating on construction a bit. I know you don't work on your fanart that much, but it's actually a very good form of practice you can use for your paitings and such. I love the expression on her face, especially that lil curve of the mouth. This post has been edited by Narratorway on 28th April 2005 02:06 -------------------- |

Very nice work. I like it. There aren't a lot of FF4 pieces around, especially of minor characters, so this is pretty cool.
Especially since it was drawn in... one hour? Good job. |
