Basically what gaming elements do you just hate? For me it's those bottomless pit levels, you know the ones with no floor and you just have to keep jumping on platforms to go further, they always give me an uneasy feeling.

Minigames that you have to play to advance the game.

A mix of bad camera angles WITH deep pit levels would do me. =P Pit levels in themselves don't bother me.

The old 'raising water' levels used to annoy me. Moving levels are okay, unless it's moving from the bottom. =P

Really long and overdone spell animations in RPGs get on my nerves. You have no idea how enjoyable it is to be able to skip any lengthy animation with the press of a button in games like Skies of Arcadia and on emulators with that handy tilda key.

Another one that gets on my nerves is a lack of save points. I understand the need and merit of spacing them out, but sometimes dinner just can't wait (or so my parents used to tell me...).
Edit
The one game that really angered me this way was Viewtiful Joe. Great game, great action, but for being such a difficult game in parts the save points are too few and far between, especially on higher difficulty settings.

I hate sewer levels, they're always long and have the most annoying and repetitive music.

Explosive barrels. I've been to a dozen different military installations, and we keep explosives and hazmat locked up in cabinets or lots far away from everything else. It's almost a rule you have to put them in FPS games. Not that I don't mind the help, but it's just stupid!

Also: jumping puzzles. They always take many tries for me.

Quite a few things actually but only one I want to get off of my chest. I hate you NITRA! Yes I do, I hate you very much. You always make me do somthing rediculously difficult and/or dangerous that I'll never have to do again in the entire game. Garsh darn it, I want my rare item right now so give it to me. Aww, man not again, now I'll have to start all over. NITRA, you're mean.

Required mini-games. Especially if you just plain suck!

"Your progress is impeded by your unavoidable desire to go fishing! Here's your rod and lure, but first we'll give you an overly complicated tutorial on what to do! Of course, we've neglected to mention that this mini-game blows chunks, but them's the breaks! So just cast your line out there and move the analog stick in as many directions as you can, as fast as you can, until it breaks off! That's it, and now that you've hooked a fish, quickly tap 'A' with the top of a ballpoint pen once you've fractured your thumb, but don't let the fish pull too hard! To avoid this, press both shoulder buttons and 'B', but be sure to do it right when you feel the fish bite down! At this point you may want to restart and select the vibration feature from the config menu, you idiot! Now you've got it! And look, you finally caught a fish! Aww, it's only 1.5 kilos. Better throw it back! You'll need to catch one 10 or higher to move on, and there's only one fish that size in this football field of a pond. But we're not telling you where! Good luck and have fun!"

And water levels. I've always hated you, water levels...

That sounds an awful lot like Dark Cloud 2. Thankfully the crappiness of the fishing minigame was matched by the sheer awesomeness of Spheda.

The simple fact in fighting games, that the computer has the advantage of not having to puch keys/buttons to execute specials. It just "thinks" which movements it wants to do and does it instantly. Humans aren't so fast (not that annoying except Last Blade & Samurai Showdown where precision and speed in attacking are requiered to win instead of mashing buttons.)

I hate those too!! I absolutely hate all the card mini-games in the later FF games. And Blitzball...uggh, don't even get me started... Final Fantasy VII is probably the only game that I know of that actually has enjoyable minigames.

your sooo right! 2d fighters are really guilty of this. I really enjoy them but this just annoys me. so either i play them multiplayer or i'll just go with something like tekken five where you don't need to do a huge combination of buttons to do one move.
