I've always been a stickler for a real nice boss fight (if that even makes sense), so in short what are your favorite boss fights? Whether it be for the intensity, the BGM or just because the whole thing kicked ass, for me it'd be:
Backstage Battle (Dynamite Headdy) The Gate Keeper (Dynamite Headdy) Wind God Beast (Seiken Densutsu 3) Dingodile (Crash Bandicoot 3) Flying Airship (Contra 3) That Voodoo Priestess (Sly Cooper) Doomsday Zone (Sonic & Knucles) That Giant Bird (Devil May Cry) Orange (Gunstar Heroes) Giant Turtle Thingy (Contra Shattered Soldier) -------------------- |

The "giant bird" from DMC is called Griffon, and the Wind god-beast from SD3 is called Dangaard. Griffon is some kind of bizzare combination griffin-tapeworm while Dangaard looks like some kind of two-headed ostrich-griffin. I have a ton of bosses to add, so I won't include reasons why or anything.
My personal favorites (boss - game) M. Bison - Street Fighter Alpha 3 (my personal favorite incarnation of the Big M) True Ogre - Tekken 3 Phantom - Devil May Cry Cerberus - Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Hulk Davisson - Viewtiful Joe Sigma - Mega Man X (final tier, once again my favorite incarnation among many) Dragon Emperor- Seiken Densetsu 3 Ice Titan - Kingdom Hearts Gilgamesh - Final Fantasy V Marquis Elmdor - Final Fantasy Tactics Son of Sun - Chrono Trigger Lavos Core (final battle) - Chrono Trigger The Axem Rangers - Super Mario RPG Vize, Anita, and Faina - Skies of Arcadia: Legends Popple and Rookie - Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga Star Wolf team - Star Fox 64 Volvagia - Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time *Trinexx - Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past Dhaos (Past) - Tales of Phantasia Olrox - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night The Great Mighty Poo - Conker's Bad Fur Day *The Turtle Rock boss - I actually had to look that one up ![]() -------------------- |

Final Fantasy 6 -- Atma Weapon, Doom, Goddess, Poltergeist (because of the freaky music) Super Mario RPG -- Exor ... it's just exciting! Zelda Link to the Past -- Ganon ... the music is pretty intense! -------------------- "I will create a monument to nonexistence!!" "The end comes ... beyond chaos." ~ Kefka, Final Fantasy VI |

I always look forward to Sinspawn Gui and Seymour 1 in FFX. I love those fights. All else that really comes to mind is the Gilgamesh fights. Oh, and Adamant. (Is that the name? the turtle-like boss at the end of Butz's world in FFV.)

Yeah those two ninjas were Bill and Ben if I remember correctly (who look strangely like Gilgamesh when combined) and I haven't played Devil May Cry in like 3 years so I didn't remember that bird's name (I need to get it again). A couple of more:
Sigma MMX, X5 and X6 Giant Brain (Contra 3) Yunalesca (FFX) Ultros (He just wont friggin give up) Dr. Wily (MM7) -------------------- |

Magus - Chrono Trigger - awesome music, awesome powers, sweet battle all-in-all.
Mad Predator - AvsP arcade - only one-on-one boss fight in the game. The bastard is quick, agile, powerful, a great graphical design AND an example of recycling - he fights almost the same as Rolento in Final Fight (only differrences: Armgun instead of grenades and Rolento doesn't turn invisible) Bone Crusher - Punisher - he just looks awesome - half man, half tank, all punk and overall kickarse. Quote (Bone crusher) Die in your own blood, baby! ![]() Jaffar - Prince of Persia(as in 1) - my first ever "boss". 'Nuff said. Copy X and Final Omega - Megaman Zero [spoiler]By "Final Omega", I mean Zero's original body[/b] Two Duels of the ultimate level. Plus, I will gladly fight the Four Guardians anytime (especially Leviathan ![]() Juni and Juli - Street Fighter Alpha 3... Nyaa! Fighting these two at once is one of the more fun fights I've had...they're cute too boot ![]() This post has been edited by SilverMaduin on 20th April 2005 17:33 -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. What? no mention of Gigyas from earthbound? What are you people thinking?
ok that's a bit harsh, but still. IMHO da most unique boss battle ever. others incllude (but are not limited to): Magus (CT): like said previously. BADASS. Phantom (Megaman Zero): the rest of the MMZ boss battles are great, but he really is cool. The only one who really matches Zero's speed, a great ninja-samurai type battle. Mote (breath of fire 1): originality at its finest. Starts off pixely (I first thought it was a glitch when I got to him!) with high magic/low phys resistance, then with each phys hit the balance sways the opposite way. Strategy to the max! MC Tusk (Bof 2): the name is bad enough, but announcing an attack with "I'm gonna slap you"... ![]() -------------------- "Fire and steel follow me through the lands you will burn hordes of hell in the deadly raging flames of revenge" Rhapsody - Flames of Revenge |

Algus (FFT)- The storyline up to this point in the game was intense and it is the battle that changes the course of the game.
Shao Khan (MK)- I always got rush everytime I would fought this guy. Diablo (Diablo)- Taking out the hulking demon-lord is always fun alone or in groups. Sorceress Ultimecia (FF8)- I loved getting through her to watch the cool ending. Dycedarg/Adramelk (FFT)- My favorite battle in FFT. That's my list, though I'm sure it's not complete. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." In no order:
Giygas (although it's scripted) and Ness' Nightmare - EarthBound Culex - Super Mario RPG Gilgamesh (third and fourth battles, in particular) and Omega - Final Fantasy V Kraid - Super Metroid Nemesis - Resident Evil 3 Ganon - Every Zelda game he's in Atma Weapon - Final Fantasy VI Big Boss - Metal Gear Boomerang/Luceid - Wild ARMs Krauser ('specially the knife fight, if it counts) - Resident Evil 4 The End, The Sorrow (if you can call that a 'battle') and The Boss - Metal Gear Solid 3 Andross (brain form) - Star Fox 64 Eh...can't think of the rest right now. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will.
