I am in Kefka's tower now, so I guess that soon it will be the #1 time for me to beat it.
But I reckon a lot of you guys have played this game over and over again.
Just curious. smile.gif

By the way, when I have finished this game, I'm sure I'll do it at least one more time in my life, just to play it again with all the things I learned playing it.
I came to really love the game.

I think this topic already existed...but answering your question, I´ll say more than 5 times, I playing it now, actually just for defeating that damn Chupon in the colosseum, but the first time was long, long ago, and it was just for seeing the game and I didn´t liked that much then, and then after playing it two times , I played it again to have Shadow in my party ( please don`t hit me....too hard) really, until then I never got him in my party...and then a friend of mine say me this:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Shadow might be the father of Relm

so I played again because I want to see if it was true..and now is for defeating that Chupon. Oh and I love this game a lot right now, really is a masterpiece from the past.

Edit
After the first time I played it, I played it once more , and then again after 3 or four years (in 2001) and some months ago to complete the game with only Celes, Setzer and Edgar

So, what was it that made you decide to play it again, was it just the possibiity to learn more about Shadow's storyline?

I probably beat it at least 15-20 times. Most of the time it is with the normal amount of characters (including Gogo and Umaro) but I also like to see endings without certain characters. For instance:

Not getting Locke and in the ending Setzer saving Celes instead

well ive only beaten it 4 times. the first two times, i beat it the exact same way, and the final two times i took slightly different routes in order to add to the replay value. honestly tho, i could play that damn game the same way everytime and never get bored!

15-20 playthroughs BGrugby? omg. Well I played through it at least 5 times but probably less than ten. I played through 2 or 3 times back when the game came out, then took a break for a few years and then played through another 3 or 4 times within the last couple of years. Two of those were for creating expert versions 1 & 2.

I've beaten it 1 time, and am currently trying the hard version that i90east has a link to on his signature. I have just one thing to say about the hard version: THAT GAME IS COMPLETELY AND TOTAL IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT!!!! Well, not really, but it definitely earns its title. I'm currently stuck at Cave to Sealed Gate with character levels around 23, and I still can't beat it...*grumble* Damned Undead and your Lifeshaver...*grumble*

I've played through the entire game at least 8 times but that's mostly because of RSS A.K.A. Ruined Save Syndrome. Only for about three or possibly four of those times have I really paied much attention to the entire story, the rest were getting back to WoR and catching the stuff that I missed before. It's a wonderful game though and it never gets boring. The only alternate ending I ever saw was Shadow's though, I really like getting all of my characters.

I've played it an average of twice a year since I was ten, so -- 20. 15 for the couple of years I didn't have an SNES.

Maybe five times or so. By the second playthrough I'd found pretty much everything, so it lost its "newness" by that point. =/ Plus I found other games to play. ^^

Twice so far. One normal, one no-esper. Right now I'm on my third play, a one-esper-once CES (Celes, Edgar, Setzer). I say one esper once because I am NOT taking the long way against magimaster again.

I would say three times. Though each time I did as much as I could before going to the final fight with Kefka, so I've never really done a speedy, incomplete go-through. And I have to uncurse the cursed shield every time which takes an annoying amount of time.

More times than any relatively sane person should (see "I lost count 'round 10+").
