I've read that a lot of people who use Samurais bring the faith level down.
Why is this? I thought that high faith was needed to inflict high damage. (For this reason, my favorite set up to beat Possible spoilers: highlight to view was to use a wizard with a secondary ability of draw out.) Draw Out doesn't use Faith in calculating damage, just your MA and whether or not you have Magic Attack UP activated. Thus, they bring Faith down to prevent damage from enemy spells.
I never do that, of course, because I like my Time magic too well. -------------------- Wasabi Viniagrette: Mix 1/3 C rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 2 tsp powdered wasabi. Excellent over cold udon noodles and shiitake mushrooms for a Japanese pasta salad. |

A wizard has better MA than a Samurai does, so that's why your tactic worked out well, Ravenn.

the problem with reducing faith levels for your characters is that, while you are reducing enemy spell damage, you're also reducing the amount a cure spell will do, the success rate of beneficial status spells like haste, protect, &c...i've found it most productive to keep the faith level as high as possible, since many, many random battles (the type you'll be doing for the majority of ch4 if you're interested in sidequests or propositions) are against monsters, whose attacks (both in intensity and in success rate) are not modified by faith. now, if you're talking about a samurai scc game, then yeah, faith level should be as low as possible. but otherwise, i think it's better to keep it up, just because spells like haste can make *so* much difference.

As it was said before, Draw out works at it best with and high MA points, I got my Ramza with 27 MA points, and Draw out works perfectly, Murasame heals pretty well, like 300-350 Hp, and Chijiraden do a 600-700 damage around.
