I'm finishing the game for the first time now, and I seem to have missed some scenes.
Didn't see any of Shadow's dreams, for instance. Now I'm in the World of Ruin, and realizing that I never brought Gau to see his dad. Which one of the 'crazy old guys' in the game is his father, actually? Should I have done this in the World of Balance? -------------------- |

To see Shadow's dreams, you have to have Shadow in your party and sleep in inns in the World of Ruin.
This chapter of the CoN's ff6 walkthrough talks about Gau's father, in the first paragraph. You're fine to get these things done in the WoR, providing you did wait for Shadow on the floating continent. EDIT: It's been too long since I've played the game, I'm wrong about Shadow's dreams. You can see Shadow's dreams in the WoB when on your way to Zozo for the first time.

Also with Shadow's dreams, they seem to happen more often for me when you stay at the inn in the Coluseem. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this.

![]() I did notice that in the Colloseum the dreams appear more often, They also seemed to appear more in Thamasa. You know what?
World of Ruin. After killing 6 of the 8 dragons, and upgrading all my characters, magically-wise, I searched for the Veldt in between, and stumbled upon the house of the crazy old man, who happened to be Gau's dad. I've seen the scene. Also, while upgrading, I saw Shadow's final dream. This made me think; Maybe Final Fantasy VI is the best game/RPG I ever played. Thanks for your help, anyway! FF VI is great! Appeared more in Thamasa? Really? I could never get the dreams to happen in that town. I figured it was because the inn cost was only 1gp and for some reason Square didn't want cheap people to uncover the dream sequences. Maybe my SNES version was just messed up.

As far as I know, it's completely random for each town (or rather, completely random each time you rest with Shadow in your party, regardless of the town). Still, I've always had more luck seeing the first two dreams in Maranda and the third and fourth in Tzen (I think), and, of course, the last one in Thamasa. The other towns either never worked for me or it's taken a load of tries instead of them playing right away, and I've never been able to trigger any of the first four in Thamasa.

They always appeared most often in the Colosseum and Thamasa, for me. (Hence why it costs like 20,000 GP to sleep in the Colosseum, I always thought.)

Sorry, but I don't have time to go through all the forum pages every while...
![]() Anyway, next time before I start a topic, I'll try and check if there's already one about the same issue. I got the help I asked for, so I'm happy anyway. ![]() -------------------- |

Quote Put Gau and Sabin in your party then go to the crazy old man's house (northeast of the Veldt) to see a scene where Gau learns that this is his father (along with an amusing scene of the others picking out clothes for Gau in Jidoor so he can look respectable for dear old dad). OK, here's a stupid question: Do you need to be in the WoR to see this, or can you see it in the WoB?
