I was bored, and I noticed Kappa, our imp/kappa friend from NPC's-Who-Know-More-Than-They-Should-Land doesn't exactly have a huge fanbase, so I was inspired! ...Or something. Well, as inspired as I can get with a little 5-minute drawing.
Oh, and don't mind the little, green dude here - he's just PO'd 'cause of the lack of appreciation, and after painstaking over that one Rage tutorial, too! Haha nice.
I just always imagined Kappa with more of a beak than a frog nose. It also reminds me of the mystical ninja 64 kappas. Those make me want to go Kappa Genocidal. Quote (MogMaster @ 31st March 2005 01:15) I just always imagined Kappa with more of a beak than a frog nose. That's funny, I always imagined that Kappa was an asian in highschool who sucks at UT. Next you should draw Tom. Better yet, make it some kind of action scene, such as Tom vs. The Stairs or Tom vs. Ronald McDonald. I'd suggest Blaine as well, but someone already beat us to it.
Also, your rendition of Kappa is good, and strongly resembles both the one in the game and the one in real life. Kappa...so unappreciated for someone who knows so much.
It's nice, but may have to "snakish" a face, considering his menu pics showed him flatfaced (no muzzle). Funny though, is the way he is so connectable to his RL/irc counterpart -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? I found out an odd thing about that lil creature we so dearly love and mock. Turns out Kappa's are some kinda demon turtle in Japan that have holy water in their heads instead of brains and their skulls are incredibly weak and are usually cracked wide open. They're polite to the extreme and the way to kill them is to bow in front of them, forcing them to bow in return and spill their water.
Oh yeah, and the picture rocks too. -------------------- |

Quite nice. Although I personally imagine Kappa smiling and looking cute. Or maybe Kappa just got tired of looking cute for everyone, and decided to show that he was indeed pissed.

Did you get that from Harry Potter or something? On Djibriel's website he has a bit to say about the kappa when talking about an imp halberd. Including picture. No this has nothing to do with the date, if you don't believe me go check. From what I remember, they had bowl-like indentations in their heads that held the water, but maybe it differs. Obviously, this is why the imps/kappa in the game wear hats. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. Yes, SilverFork's right about the 'bowl-like indentations'. I will admit I Ctrl + V's that as I'm nowhere near smart enough to remember a word like indentations. Also, Kappa's eat people. Especially little kids when they wander too close to the ponds and marshes they live in.
Overall, awesome picture. I like to imagine this was the look on his face when he learned how I took over his job as Rage Guru -------------------- |
