A grand step forward and a flash of blue,
And the Agent's domain's law comes to you. Dead beast's knowledge I'm not, yet in effect, the same, But beware, when my master is ended, so is his game. Name me! Answer: Health The bolded part is the part I am having trouble on! The answer is Health, the ability that has the same affect as cure. Bannon uses it (If you don't remember...), and I need to figure out what the bolded means... -------------------- "Why do people rebuild things they know are going to be destroyed? Is this a riddle you came up with and are having to explain to someone, or is this a riddle that you solved and are trying to analyze?

Quote Woiw, i can't believe that many people have looked at my riddle and not answer... Are you trying to figure it out? I'd appreciate it... Hey, are you PMing everyone on the board about this? If people are not interested or don't know the answer, they're not going to reply. I don't see what you're expecting from trying to drag people into posting a reply they don't have. Please don't do that again. :/ It's fairly rude and annoying. It'd be even worse if everyone started doing that. In reply to your post, no, I have no idea what that is. frankly I think it's the answer that matters, as that's what you are asked for. as you have the answer, you really needn't ponder on what the question meant, as you understood it well enough to give what is asked of you. And this isn't another way of saying I haven't the foggiest.

Well, I don't actually know this either but lets take a look at what happens when you choose to do the Health command. If I remember correctly, I think this is the proper order of things:
1. Even though it's not actually a spell, the typical casting geustres and a bright flash of light that goes before the casting still applies. 2. The actual graphic for the ability. It was either blue or green and I don't remember which. 3. The healing effect. That is how it goes isn't it? Assuming it is for the moment, I think it refers to the fact that there's a flash of light and then the action/ability/effect comes to you/happens. Possibly the agent could mean something such as a healing agent (it's not a spell and it has to be something) and the law coming to you could be the laws of magic or possibly medicine. More likely medicine then magic though because in the game, Magic is normally defined as abilities that can be learned via Magicite. The domain part, I don't know about but it might just be there to throw you off or make it sound flowery, as most riddles do. Well, that's my spin on it. I do agree with alphasmart though, it's really the answer that counts and not the question. (Unless you're playing Jeopardy that is.) If you're really curious, why don't you ask the person who originally asked the riddle? If you can contact them that is. They'd definatly know what they ment. A reference to the returners perhaps? Hope that sparks something, just a guess.

Quote (Kefka Palazzo @ 27th March 2005 19:53) A grand step forward and a flash of blue, And the Agent's domain's law comes to you. Dead beast's knowledge I'm not, yet in effect, the same, But beware, when my master is ended, so is his game. Name me! Answer: Health Okay, I'll give it a shot. The first line is exactly what Tonepoet said, the typical startup animation for most spells. The third line (I'll save the second line for last) refers to Health having the same animation as the spell White Wind (a Lore spell learned from monsters), only blue, and also being a healing spell that affects the entire party. The fourth line refers to the fact that for the brief period that Banon is in your party, if he dies your game's over. Now for that enigmatic second line, I have a feeling that it somehow involves the Returners, helping to decipher that the riddle has something to do with Banon. "Agent's domain's law" could refer to Banon placing his hope on to Terra. That't the best I got, sorry dude. -------------------- |

![]() An agent of the returners (Bannon) takes a step forward to cast Health. The animations for health play (with a flash of blue somewhere in there) and the spell comes into effect for all living allies on screen (The domain). Also, I've heard that Health = Cure 2 with differnt graphics. Now at this point in the game, you don't normally have Cure 2(The dead Beast's knowlege) and probably won't get it until you can get the remains of an Esper (A.K.A. Phantom Beast) to teach it to you. It's a good skill yes but to keep it from being over powered, there's a big price to pay. If it's only known user(Bannon), dies then the game is over(Or ended). I can go into greater detail but it would take allot of time and make the post much longer so I'll only do that by request. Also, I explained the entire riddle to help me make sure that I didn't miss anything. What? Aren't people allowed to change their minds sometimes? I'll just throw my guess out: "Agent", like others have said, could refer to Banon as the conducting agent, since he's the one that casts the spell. "Agent's domain's law" could be referring to Banon's domain in spellcasting, i.e, healing. As a healer, he's obligated to heal others, which is pretty much law in the realm of RPG's. So, in a way, it could go like this:
A grand step forward and a flash of blue, (The start of the spell animation) And the Agent's domain's law comes to you. (Banon casts the spell as dictated by his role as a healer) Dead beast's knowledge I'm not, yet in effect, the same, ('Health' is similar to the White Wind blue magic spell) But beware, when my master is ended, so is his game. (A general statement that if Banon's screwed, everyone's screwed) If that's not it, then I'm stumped. We'll, more stumped at what it means than I already am. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. - Murphy’s Law Boing! Zoom! - Mr. Saturn |

Quote A general statement that if Banon's screwed, everyone's screwed Which is why he was popular at orgi... Oh yeah, kids around, eh? Banon's Health was a prayer in the Japanese version of the game. Maybe the 'Agent' refers to something like godlike? Note that there's nothing indicating a supreme god in the rest of the game, but I really can't do anything else with the riddle. Have you tried to ask the guy who made the riddle? This post has been edited by Djibriel on 29th March 2005 09:06 -------------------- |
