First, yeah, I know, this isn't a tech support forum, and Windows XP sucks. But this isn't a problem I can't live with, and I just wanted to see who else had that problem and whether someone knew of a solution.
So I was looking through my 'My Pictures' folder one day, using the 'Thumbnails' view (each picture or folder is given a square in which a preview of it or its contents are displayed), and then either I hit some command on a keyboard or Windows just decides to be nasty, and stops displaying the names of each thumbnail. So now all I see in that folder is a bunch of pictures, with no names. This isn't the first folder that this phenomenon has happened to. It's happened before to other folders (which often didn't contain any pictures, such as my Mega Man X4 music folder), and I've switched to other views like 'icons', 'list', 'tiles', or 'details'. But I'd like to be able to see the names of my pictures when I browse through the folder (say, when organizing my photographs). Also, I often have to change the names of digital-camera-produced photos, which are often called (before change) something like HP0089.jpg. Does anyone know of a way to get the names to show back up? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I use Mastodon, where I am @[email protected] ( https://sakurajima.moe/@glennmagusharvey ) |

That happened to one of my folders, too. I didn't bother with it and just set it to icons.

That sucks. Something similar happened to me once. I had a reportoire of FF pictures, etc. and I got the AdobePhotoshop or something like that. I tried to look at the pictures by clicking on them but every time the Adobe thing would pop up and say I need to register or something like that. I registered and then I tried to switch back to the old pic viewing mode and then all the pictures were deleted in the process. As I tried to go into the Recycling Bin, I restored the pics and then the computer crashed... I restarted and then everthing in the bin was deleted. I had to go back and get the pictures from the Net and then I just decided to view them inside the folder...
