I was wondering since the game at the begining makes such a big deal of cloud having (solider eyes) but later it was revealed he never was in SOLDIER so where did he get the mako tranfusion?

I think he was in Soldier, just not a high rank, of course I could be mistaken.

We discussed this at length in this thread. I believe that the general consensus was that Cloud got his eyes all greened up from his Mako exposure following the Cloud and Zack episode in Nibelheim, where they spent several years (I think) in Mako test tubes.
