I've got a trivia question and I'll leave it vague in order to make it more difficult.

In SMB3 How would I go about fighting Bowser #2 and why would I want to do it?

Bowser #2 was accessed by using a P-Wing to fly up and over the wall in Bowser's room and finding a second Bowser. The reason to do it was the second Bowser did not shoot fireballs, making him a rather easy final boss.

There. The next question is up for grabs, and another trivia thread lives on, much to R51's consternation.

Ok, this may not count but since it is Mario (or Bowser) related, I'm gonna go with it. If this question isn't.... allowed, because it's not a total Mario game, then someone else go ahead.

Ok, in smash bros melee (GC) How does a play aquire the Giga-Bowser trophy?
*Note: The answer is not beat the final event match*

I need all the standards for it, what mode, continues/none, etc.

(I just finished doing this like 15 mins ago, so I know which answer is right ^-^)

Meh, I think it's allowed. I asked a question about Mario/Dr. Mario for Melee and a question about a Yoshi sprite so why wouldn't this be? I think this is just a topic for the general Mario and Mario related gaming knowlege. I wouldn't go beyond that though as this is "General Gaming Chat" so it might be pushing it to start involving cartoons, toys, comic books and/or otherwise. I can't be certain though so meh, that's just what I think.

Anyway, holy nutter butters and congratulations, I think you might've caught me off gaurd with a Mario related thing I've never done or know much about. However, I think I'll take a stab at this one though as I vaguely remember hearing this somewhere. Adventure, no continues, hard/very hard and maybe you have to defeat Giga-Bowser too. I'm not sure about that last part there but maybe. Also, there might also be one other thing but I can't remember what that would be for the life of me. Points? Well, that's all I've got for now. If I can remember anything more you can count on my coming back.

Anyway, if by some means of dumb luck I'm right, the next question is once again up for grabs. I've got to make up for hogging all of the questions in the begining.

Since Tonepoet was so incredibly close, i'm gonna go and give the question to'em.

You were right about the no continues and defeat giga-bowser part, but the difficulty was normal - very hard. (Like i said, pretty damn close) Adventure mode was also correct. so the question has been (technically) answered.

Since Tonepoet gave the question up for grabs... it means just that ^-^

First I'd like to thank my friend Glenn for telling me about this thread! thumbup.gif

All right, if it's up for grabs, I'll try my hand at this ...

In Super Mario World, which three levels have question boxes which contain Yoshi wings?

Cheese Bridge and Way Cool are right!

However, the third level is not the first Bowser level. Close, though!

Yes it is. It's the BIG one. With the maze that moves on its own. You get the yoshi wings in it because it's impossible to navigate the maze with him. The course on the map is a big red dot, and the secret leads to the fort which leads to the backdoor.

Maybe my answer wasn't clear enough and it wasn't the first course, but that description is pretty accurate.

Edit- My bad man, I went and looked and the couse I'm thinking of is Bowser Land course 2 smile.gif

You got it!! thumbup.gif And I've tried getting through that maze with Yoshi, and it wasn't pretty.

Of course, at the Cheese Bridge, you have to ignore the wings and take Yoshi through the course in order to get to Soda Lake ... but that's a different story.

Name how to get every one of the 120 stars in mario 64!

No not really. Easy enough though-
Name two wall glitches in Mario 64.
(meaning you can go through "solid" matter and it is not clearly intended for gameplay purposes)

Nuts, I love Mario but I hate bugs and glitches. Oh well, let's see if I can scrape by here. Well, I've heard about "stand behind the castle door" but I don't know if that involves going through someting. Also, I think if you push if you push into a wall and toy around with the camera angels, it kinda looks like small parts of Mario are going into the wall. It's been a long time Mario 64, a really long time.

Explainations on the first one, and no on the second one. There is an actual spot where you can go through solid matter.

There are actually at least three.

1. You can use Mips the rabbit to glitch through the big star door that leads to Dire, Dire Docks and Bowser in the Fire Sea. This is necessary for a 16-star run.
2. In the stairwell from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor, a double jump can apparently clear the slanted part of the ceiling and let Mario arrive at the top of the stairwell.
3. The big star door from the 2nd to the 3rd floor can be also glitched through via the 'falling backwards on stairs' glitch. (This glitch can also make it past the final stairway to Bowser in the Sky.)

I have too many speed run video files on my computer.

1. Shoot the cannon in the courtyard into a little above the peach window and you can enter into that little red space when you open the door.

2 In the stairwell from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor, a double jump for some strange reason clear the slanted part of the ceiling and let Mario arrive at the top of the stairwell.

3. must be the shrooms

You got it chief. Blythe got the two glitches I was thinking of that involved moving through solid material on your own.

the previously locked cannon is now open, and you can fire yourweself to the top of the castle. there you will see Yoshi and get 99 lives. You can then go up there any other time, if im not mistaken, and refill youre lives. You can also use a newer super-cool triple-jump that glitters thumbup.gif

What Nintendo 64 game contains an exact copy of the original 8-bit Super Mario Bros. Theme?

(I'm pretty sure there's only one. If there's more than one...I'll see if what I can do.)

Super Smash Bros. the hidden SMB stage. But I'm not sure that's actually the original version, it sounds a little too good.

I'm giving it to The Ancient, since the background music to the 'Mushroom Kingdom' battlefield is the track I was thinking of. It is indeed a port of the 8-bit Mario theme, including speeding up the music when only 30 seconds are left. (Keep in mind that the 'Peach's Castle' track is a remix of that same theme, in SSB style.)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure about MG's guess. If someone else can verify that he is indeed correct (unfortunately, the soundtrack is not available on Zophar.net), then the next time I answer correctly, I'm giving the question-asking right to him.

(MoogleGenocide: just remind me in case I forget.)
