That's right, Selection Sunday is on 13 March. So, it's time for that annual rite of Spring, the CoN NCAA Tournament Pool. March Madness is on, and I want to see how many of you guys pick my alma mater to fall in the first round. We've gotten a lot bigger over the past year, so I'd like to see a TON of people in this. I think we had 12 or 13 last year, how about 20 this time around?
To join, just go to http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men and have a Yahoo ID ready (or sign up for one while you're there - it's a requirement to participate). Here's the info you need to sign up. Code Group ID# 10554 Group Name CoN Group Password iheartcon Let us all know what your team name is when you get signed up, so we know who's who. Mine is currently "CoN" because I put the wrong thing in the wrong box. Oops. We'll figure out what the prize is later. Best. Idea. Ever.
Quote im there, and i already got my final four set! lets go 'cuse! ..before the conference tourneys? Or for that matter, SELECTION SUNDAY?? Pretty bold. Or irrational, but it's your call. Too bad the SEC blooows this year, guess I have to root for Kentucky and "Bama". Which coming from an Auburn guy, says a lot. |

I'm definitely in. I'm going against 90% of the world and cheering for the Pac 10! Zona and Washington will make some noise and earn a little respect. Although my favorite team is Oregon...but anyways, don't call me a Homer, cuz I don't even live near Pac 10 territory.

Don't forget, you have until Thursday morning to sign up and get your picks in, and picks can be done anytime between now and the tipoff of the first game.
Even if you don't know basketball, you should get in. People who have been here a few years will no doubt remember the year Elena99 won it having never really watched a game in her life. ![]() -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

It seems that way here at work, too. We have a company wide pool that pays 250 bucks for first place, and last year a girl won. Not that that's unusual or anything, but the method of her picking the teams that she did was that she liked the mascot of one over the other.

My brackets are in the toilet, but NC State and Mich. State are still in it.... so I'll gladly swap out winning the picks for one of those two making the final four. NCSU has to beat Wisconsin, then UNC or Villanova in the elite 8.... *whew*

Well, somehow my sleeper pick of LSU was bogus, and Utah wasn't. This year has been really insane, I still have half of my elite eight and three of my final four (ACC's the place to be, mofo) and I seem to be better off than alot of people.
Edit And Shiite, Rangers still has all four of in the semis, and they all seem to be intelligent choices based on what's happened thus far. I'm scared. The only surefire way I can win is if ALL FOUR top seeds advance and UNC beats Illinois in the final. That'll make me the highest-scoring bettor with six out of seven final spots correct. So I'm screwed. This post has been edited by laszlow on 22nd March 2005 19:17 -------------------- |

I'm definitely not bandwagon. I had them going to the Elite Eight last year beating Duke, man if that had happened how great would that have been. If Illinois beats UNC, I think I'll win with those team chokes. I don't think anyone else in contention has Illinois over UNC, and we have pretty much the same picks for everything else and I'm two points up, which is always nice. Hmm...I just found a difference between this and my money pool. I picked OK ST over Zona on here....now I'm extremely torn. Illinois has been playing like trash until the final 7 minutes of every game. Whoever wins between Ok. St. and Zona will beat Illinois, and I hope it's Zona. I would love to see Washington and Zona make the final 4 and get the East Coast people crying...and this is coming from a Michigan resident.
