Is there any signifigance to the these two phrases in ff6;

1. the treasure hunter in Miranda that says he discovered something so "incredible" (something like that) that he had to run adn hide (i can't exactly quote it, but its something like that)

2. Also, the other "person" that says something about the monopoly under the staircase in the plaza(?)

if anyone knows what im talking about....hopefully i dont sound crazy...

And also, I deeply apologize if this has already been discussed, i tried searching it but didnt find anything, pleez dont kill me!! happy.gif blush.gif

I'm not sure about the first one, surprising considering how many times I beat the game, but the second one refers to the treasure under the "Grand Staircase" in the Sealed Cave.

To clarify, there's hidden treasure chests on some of the tiles under the staircase thingy.

As for the treasure hunter thing, I can't recall off the top of my head. I know what you're talking about though. For some reason I want to say its about the treasure at the top of the magimaster's tower, but I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure that the crazy treasure guy is talking about fanatics tower, and that the three identical-looking bums (one of whom sells you information) are his cohorts, or something.

And the treasure under the staicase refers to the hidden room with the Atma Weapon and Magicite, I think.

The stairecase treasure is a ridiculously well hidden and practically useless series of items on individual tiles here and there after the stairs. They're nearly impossible to find unless you know about them. And they're just lowly sums of money and useless items...

Kind of a shame. wink.gif You'd expect mega-well hidden treasures to be worthwhile.

The first one is *probably* talking about (one of) the treasures in the Fanatic's Tower (and if only one, most likely the coup de grace, the Gem Box). I say probably because there's no real evidence on this one, not because I don't know what you're talking about.

To support the theory, there are a bundle of thieves massed around the Fanatics Tower in the first place, and at least some of them have made their way up there, as the location of "the" Air Anchor is hinted at by a Thief as well (trigger hidden whatever next to the treasure chest in the room on the first level of the never-ending stairway).

And no disrespect for the Grand Stairway treasures! It's where Square capability shines. As opposed to the floating chests in Owzer's Mansion, they actually managed to get an ENTIRE description out of the four hidden treasures correctly. Sure, one is misspelled, one is plain wrong, and one says you get 2000 GP when in fact you only get 293, but that Inviz Edge actually is an Inviz Edge, people!

I have to admit, I was impressed by the effort. smile.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if someone thought it'd be funny to stick stuff in there at random, and the ninja actually meant the treasure room with the Atma weapon et all, though. smile.gif

In who knows how many playthroughs, I never knew that the ninja wasn't referring to the Atma Weapon room, heh. Now I want to play through the Sealed Cave again just to get those treasures myself. smile.gif Thanks

Woo hoo! Number one is something I actually half remember about WoR, sort of. If I remember that conversation correctly and if I have the right town, then you're talking about that guy who said something about a switch and a treasure box. Am I right? Well, if I am, here's what he's talking about the Air Anchor found in Fanatic's Tower. I don't exactly remember how to get it but it does involve a switch that's next to a treasure box in a treasure room. Of course if that's not the guy you're talking about then I've got nothing. Nothing at all. Also, like Phoenix, I always assumed that the Atma Weapon was the treasure the Ninja spoke of. It isn't according to all of the websites I've went to but still, that Ninja is the reason I found the Atma Weapon in the first place. Meh, I guess misunderstanding can be good sometimes.

Ugh, another reason to play the game again. I think everytime I've found everything and then someone comes on here and mentions one little thing I haven't ever gotten. Well hopefully, the 293 gp was fixed in Anthology.

Well hopefully, the 293 gp was fixed in Anthology.

To reiterate, if it's in the Glitches and Bugs guide and not under section 5, assume it was never fixed unless the bug description says otherwise. This, unfortunately, is no different.

Well, I was always confused as to exactly WHERE the so-called grand staircase was. I just assumed it was directly over where the Atma Weapon was hidden, but I was never sure. But as the Atma Weapon is by far (in my opinion) the best treasure in that cave, I figured that had to be what the Ninja was referring to.

He actually mentions a "plaza" beneath the grand staircase...which is exactly where the buried treasures are.
