Well, my FF7 disc is 8 years old now and...well?..having gone through it about 10 timesm my disc 1 doesn't even load at the beginning, so I have to use the neat disc-swapping trick to get through the beginning (for those of you who don't know, you can swap discs any timeaduring gameplay and it will sti}l play like normal onlyausing tyat disc's fmv sequences) bu5 anyway...does anyone know of any good disc cleaning tools so Iawon't have to do this anymore? Or would it be easier to just go buy a new copy?

I have the same problem, and have two strategies.
1. Turn the console upside down. Helps a bit.
2. Put the disc in the fridge within a plastic bag. For some reason, it works wonders on small scratches.

It's possible somewhere enar you may offer a service to clean scratches for a small fee ( I personally know of around three within 25 miles of me) and most work basically by skimming the layer with scratches off, or putting a small layer of sillicone on IIRC. These can work wonders, but should the other advice not work or you be unable to find any places offering this,, try and hunt a new copy of the game down.

Why don't you go to a pawn shop and ask then to buff it for like the 5 bucks it would cost?

Jhimbob you should just buy one of those cans of air for your comp and open up the playstation and blow it out hope this helps.

Yea it happens.. When I tried to go to the menu in disc 3 to load my game, it made a weird sound like "Too-doom." It sounds like that music that plays when certain requirements aren't met. Like if you load a memory card slot with no memory card, it plays that sound...

I used GameStop's Disc Cleaner and cleaned my Disc 1 (Shinra Tower Floor 60 and above was a torture), Disc 2 (That Ice Town, I forgot the name.), and Disc 3 (Nibelheim and after the battle with Jenova was a pain.)..

Not just FF7, but also FFt (The Square Soft logo froze the game.), FF9 (Disc4 never loaded the game sad.gif . ), FFVIII (Disc 2 and 4. Because the world map is starting to have those "Black squares" when it isn't loaded right...

Hope FFA, FFO, and FFC doesn't fall there too!!

Sometimes when I get pissed in FF7's Disc freezing, I try to tap the PSOne surface (Just my way of trying to make it work.)
