Third time I've purchased it!
![]() First time was three years ago (It was my first FF), before I had a PS1 or PS2. I found the PC version for only $10(!) at Gamestop; a few months before it went out of print (I also bought the guide). I beat that version a few months later, and that upcoming birthday my siblings and I got a PS2. Natually, I went out and bought all the other FFs; and at the end I purchased the PS1 version of FFVII to round out my collection. I played a little bit, only up to the first Jenova battle, I believe. Then for some reason beyond my comprehension, that April I let this kid who I barely knew borrow FFVII, and the guide. ![]() He moved away, and I never saw them again. This was about two years ago! So I finally checked up on Ebay to see the prices for a new copy. $11! So it came in the mail yesterday. I didn't even open it until I beat FFVI(!) last night. I've played a bit now; only up to Wall Market. You get a totally different view of the game when you see it as part of a series, rather than your first. It's still one of my three favorites, along with VI and IX. Sorry, I've been rambling! -------------------- If something were to happen to me, all the world's women would grieve! - Edgar Nothing beats the music of thousands of voices screaming in unison! - Kefka Lover of all FFs, especially IV, VI, VII, IX, and X. Congratulations at finding a super-cheap copy of that game!
In comparison, I have a Square ad from 1997 advertising FFIIus for $69.99, FFIIIus for $79.99, and Chrono Trigger for $79.99. Of course, Square also decided to mess with the economic demand curve with FFVII, so... -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. That's exactly my thoughts and feelings on FFVIII. My first FF game ever, then playing it again looking at it as part of the series is a cool thing. And, FFVIII is among my favorite games overall with Mortal Kombat games, Diablo II, FFVII, and FFT. I feel you, bro.

I gotta buy another copy of FFVII too because disc 1 on my current copy got all scratched up. Gamestop has 'em in the bargan bin for $19.97. Is that still cheap GMH? I was actually surprized it was so high, but maybe that's just because I'm buying it a second time.

I don't know if "bargain bin" means used game, but if it does, that's a rip off. I got my brand new copy of FFVII from Circuit City for $19.99. If it's a used game you're talking about, I would say check out CC or Best Buy. They still stock it as a greatest hits. If it's a new game you might as well get it at GameStop, though three cents still isn't much of a "bargain." This post has been edited by KefkaLives on 27th February 2005 03:32 |

No, actually this was a used copy.
![]() I didn't think Best Buy still had PS1 games. Getting a new copy of FFVII would be sweet. -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! White Mage & Paladin |

Isng#39;t it spelled Duluth? Whatever.
I got FF VII for the computer as a gift I think around 1999 after I played it through with4two of my friends over the course of two weeks. After I got a playstation in 2000, I waited two years before I found FF VII new for fifteen bucks at Sam Goodyeof all places at Pentagon City mall in DC. Buying on impulse and eventually giving my PC FF VII to a console-less fried, I have played through my playstation version twice (and the PC version but once). -------------------- |

It's not a bad price to pay at all, King Edgar. I got my copy for £17 when it had just gone Platinum. I actually entered the store (one of those technology type stores that sold TVs and such as well as games) looking for headphones. This particular store used to set up a TV with a Ps1 and their 'game of the moment.' FFVII was playing. I sat there in that store until the Mako Reactor explosion scene, and promptly bought the game.
