Who should have the "True" Arc Knight job: Zalbag or Elmdor.

I think that Zalbag should because he has the destroy sword ability and Elmdor just has the draw out samuri command.

Zalbag. Besides their late father, he has the best sword skills in the Beoulve family.

I would say that Zalbag would make better use of the title than Elmdor. He has the unique set. Elmdor's skill set always makes me think of a Samurai (I wonder why?) and so "Arc Knight" just didn't work for me

I agree that Zalbag got the real Arc Knight tltle, the Marquis is just a shadow of a samurai who never broke katanas..by the way have you noticed that Zalbag has mastered Mimic Job??

I strongly disagree. While Zalbag may be an Arc Knight, his variation is so radically different than Elmdor's offensive beast, that he's not much of a contender. Dycedarg would probably get the title of strongest family member with his Sword Skill attacks (Holy Knight & Divine Knight), with Ramza riding close behind on his coattails.

For a knight, Zalbag is pretty weak and it's a wonder why he needs a sword to execute his skills at all. Speed Ruin, Power Ruin, Magic Ruin, and Mind Ruin are pretty poor attacking techniques as far as other job classes are concerned (even generics).

And, although Elmdor's Sword Spirit skillset doesn't have all the Draw Out skills in it, Teleport 2, Blood Suck, and his Genji equipment put him on a higher tier of power than Zalbag.

First of all, Elmdor is not a Beoulve. I said just in the family.
Now, yes, Dycedarg has skills, true, but I still feel as though Zalbag could whip him. Or maybe it's just because I like him better. Oh well.
Either way, Zalbag and Elmdor were both easy as pie for me, so it doesn' make a difference.
Now, you said that Elmdor was stronger because of his equipment...I mean simply of pure swordmanship.
Now Ramza is a different story. Its all based on how YOU as a player make him. He can learn NO swordskills (other than the Knight job skills) and may only be a freakin mage. So really, he doesn't count.

I only mentioned the Genji equipment because it fits in with Elmdor's samurai persona--they're unique items specifically crafted for him, so you know that he's well respected by someone. Zalbag's equipment is less-than-adequate compared to a lot of people's.

Yes, I know he's not a Beoulve. The topic was which is more deserving of the title of Arc Knight, and although Zalbag may be a contender for best in-family fighter, it's doubtful he could hold a candle to Elmdor.

My point of saying that he was the best in the family was simply to express that he was a good swordsman. I personally like him better than Elmdor, so maybe that's the reason.
I only really like Elmdor because I can take his stuff. lol
