What's a good way to determine the success your teleport will do? Does Faith or Brave affect how well it will do?

I'm pretty sure it's a 100% chance of a successful teleport if you try a square within your normal movement area, and then a 10% less chance with each additional square, ignoring height I believe. Useful, but not as great as it sounds, and it sucks failing a teleport and being a full turn behind your other advancing troops..

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right, and yeah it does suck to be a full move behind your other troops........If you want my opinion, stick with Move +2 (+3) or Ignore Height

That's exactly right.

Using Teleport to go to spaces within your movement range results in success, while the success declines by 10% for each square you go out of it. As you can see, sticking Move +3 on characters with low movement might be a better idea than Teleport.

I don't know... I always have Ramza with Battle boots or Red shoes and teleport.

Usually works for me. sleep.gif

This is nabbed from the Aerostar document on GameFAQs.

Quote
The 'Teleport' ability from the Time Mage is one of the game's best,
allowing a unit to ignore height differences and pass through walls
and obstacles.  Teleport can fail if you attempt to teleport too far,
however, and the success rate is given by the formula below.

success% = min(100, (100 - 10 * (teleport_distance - move)))

where 'teleport_distance' is the number of squares that you are
teleporting -- note that just as with normal movement, each square
you move diagonally counts as two squares, because you can only move
in four directions (forward, backward, left and right).

'Move' is the Move stat of the person who is teleporting.

This equation essentially means that you are penalized 10% for each
square outside your movement range that you attempt to teleport.  If
you teleport inside your movement range, you are guaranteed success.

Mmmmm by my experiences, That formula could reveal itself true but then if it was really that, the minimal percentage would be 1%.

Anyone know the Level Down trap In Zeklaus Desert?

I've been leveling down there and only there with all my characters and it happened me once that for that trap, and the most far possible square wich was of a range of 13, I managed to Teleport to that corner and had to Teleport my way back(4-5 Turns) sad.gif . So don't tell me I have a chance to suceed my teleport having a 0% chance. tongue.gif
Note that this happened to me only once, and I haven't dreamed or anything. I wasn't tired either.

You weren't even tired???

Not even a little bit???

If that truly happened, my guess is it was a bug.

...or it was a 1 in 100 lucky break that seems to happen more in FFT against you than for you. I know it's a random number generator and it all equalls out eventually, but I hate having a 70% hit chance and missing three times in a row, and then the computer weapon breaks me at like 20% or something. Maybe I only remeber getting screwed, but it seems like it happens a lot...

Yeah The real formulas must be something else Because I do remember things like that and Criticals attacks only occurs when you don't need them...

Same for Percentages to hit 75% seems a lot but when you notice you are missing half of your attacks (or even more), that's something else...

I'm sure there's some other factor that doesn't allow the move percentage to reach zero, just to make it really low. That seems like a reasonable explanation to me.

I teleport all the time like that and I didn´t knew that one, I only know you got little possibilities of succed...and I was fine, not tired ,drunk or upside down...perhaps the minimun probability is 5% I think..

That's not really possible because I must have level down of 350-400 in Zeklaus Desert. tongue.gif And I only teleported there once.... Must be Bad luck as always mad.gif Damn FFT always being cheap with me!!!

It's the fastest way, if you are fast of course if you are so slow that it takes you 1 second to press a button, then go for the mindflare trick.
