I was making some images for homework and I came across this Geomancer pic I had been working on.
Geomancer Originally I was going to draw some more geomnacer pics, put them together, and create a wallpaper thingy. (Yeah, I know its not really good enough for wallpaper material, but I gotta start somewhere) But with my busy schedule I don't have time. So instead I took what I had finished and put it together to make this 1 pic instead. Lets see if anyone recognizes it. The Geomancer was made only using Vector lines in Corel Draw. Its got its own charm but I wonder if I could have done better using a different style. I just took the vector drawing and put a background and words in the pic with it. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

To be honest, that's probably the prettiest female Geomancer you'll see in-game or out. I like the choice material, too--geomancers haven't really been thrust on the center stage.

That's one nice pic there, Ruj (yes, I am Capt. Obvious). I'm especially fond of the coloring job — it's beautiful.

Well, it'd make a decent wallpaper by herself, at least.

The coloring was done with the same tool I used to make the lines. They are called vector lines in Corel Draw. Basically its a line drawing tool. I can draw a straight line or curved lines or whatever. If I choose I can connect lines together to create an inclosed space, which I can fill in with color, or a pattern, etc. Kinda like using a paint tool to fill in a box with color.
So all those different streaks in her hair...each is a different vector box filled in with color. Tedious? Yes. It doesn't have the charm of a hand drawn and inked image, but I was trying something different. Combining this technique with the look of inked manga images I think I could turn out something pretty good. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

I'm very impressed. It's excellent, especially for an amateur artist like yourself.

It's brilliant.
I love it. ![]() Edit So as to make my post productive, I especially like the lighting and the colour. It goes well with the picture, in my opinion. Great job! ![]() This post has been edited by MarquisElmdor on 25th February 2005 16:16 |

If Ninja Golf Clapâ„¢ didn't make absolutely no sense out of context, I would so save it as a background.
