i rented this game yesterday, and already beat it this morning.
id like to say a few things about it. The game is different from
the movie and it didnt even have that fight one fight at the end
of the first movie.
(im guessing that is in the 2nd game.)

One thing I didnt like about this game is that you couldnt even play
as all the characters, the only characters you can
play  as is Frodo, Aragorn, and Gandalf. Another thing about it
that i didnt like about it is that the characters didnt even look
like the ones in the movie.

One thing I did like about the game was when I played as Aragorn
the game got fun when i reached to the point where you meet him
he gets a sword, bow and arrows, and to top it off you get to
kick people.  ^_^
its fun to knock them down and stab your sword through thier chest.
its also fun just capping orcs in the head with arrows.
overall id say this game is ok but i hope i get better results when
I rent the two towers game.

so what are your thoughts on this game?

I think the game was sweet, only because the fact that I'm a LOTR freak. Although, the game had it's downfalls and uprises. I didn't like the fact that you couldn't play as Legoli, he's my fav. :)

It made a decent rental. My little brother played through most of it, and only game me the honor of playing it when he somehow managed to save the game with very low life and no healing items, lol

All in all, this game isnt very deep, but its entertaining if you're a LOTR fan. The second game is based on the books, and is looking pretty good.

Straight up I didn't like it.

As a game or as a depiction of Tolkiens work, it just didn't work for me.  The movement controls were spot on, but attacks were clunky and nonresponsive.  It's a 'pattern attack' kind of action game that requires timing in the heat of battle to make combos that'll give you points.  That's just not my kind of game.  I would have prefered a much more Zelda-ish style gameplay, but alas...

Try out Two Towers.  It's supposed to be MUCH better.
