Ah hell, I'll give it a shot

Wyvern - Storm Dragon
Doom Dragon - Blue Dragon (Okay, I forgot the name, I mean the one under the suken castle, (Queen's room)
Vectaur - Ice Dragon
Brachosaur - Gold Dragon
Tyranosaur - Dirt Dragon

If I remember the name, I'll fix this, but I don't think i'll get it in time, lol.

It is indeed called the Blue Dragon.

You're up. They're all correct.

I'm begining to think I should just guess at everything now, I haven't been wrong in the last.... 4 (maybe 5) trivia guesses i've made.

.... Rats, no questions to ask though. It's open unless I think of something before hand.

What sort of warning to you get from attacking Ultros (3rd form) after Relm joins your party. (Not counting sketch)

In that musical question I was so close. However, I was still wrong, sorta. I give bring shame to my username . . . Sorta. tongue.gif

Seriously though, I don't think U:OR is talking about an actual attack. I think she's talking about that text warning you get every once in a while during that fight. I mean the one that starts to appear after you get his HP low enough for him to use Fire 3 and Load Stone in the first place. It goes something like "Watch out for his 3rd level elemental attack." or something like that if my memory serves me correctly. If I am correct, then the next question is up for grabs.

I think it's:

"Watch out for his Tri-Elemental attack".

Random Person's got it! Sorry Tonepoet, close but no banana.

I figured that out when Terra was casting a spell and Relm bounced along. It accidentaly hit Ultros after the cutscene. I was terrified that Octopus would obliterate me pinch.gif

When summoned, Starlet uses Group Hug! That, I believe, is the Princess's most useful spell.

Edgar's debilitator can be purchased at Figaro Castle, in the World of Ruin. Where can you find a debiliator far before the World of Ruin, and what are the disadvantages to having it at that point of the game? That is, why can't it really be used effectively?

(By the way Random Person, I really like Super Mario RPG!!)

*POST CONTAINS MANY SPOILERS*

The first opportunity to get a Debilitator is to Steal one from the Right Crane when you escape the Magitek Research Facility. I am not real sure where you are going with this 'disadvantages' thing. But Ill take some stabs at it.

1) The debilitator is a Rare steal. So it is very difficult to get. It may take multiple reloads to get it, and this is time-consuming and therefore a disadvantage.

2) You acquire the Airship shortly after that battle and therefore your random-encounter encounter frequency will decrease, if you so choose. And therefore the general need for any combat tools decreases.

2b) Once you have the airship, you can proceed directly to the Floating Continent. The WOR is right around the corner at that point. And you will not even have Edgar in your party for a while in WOR. At which point you do get Edgar, you then have the opportunity to go to Figaro Castle and purchase the Debilitator.

3) According to my checklist, the majority of the scenes left in the game are non-combat scenes: pick up Zoneseek and Golem from Jidoor auction house, pick up Sraphim from Tzen, Hairpin/Mog/Banon event in Narshe, Cave to the Sealed Gate Kefka / Espers scene, Imperial Palace banquet, and Thamasa Leo / Kefka scene. So the need for scene-advancing combat tools is limited.

4) Assuming that one only bothers using Debilitator in a Big Fight (like Bosses), then its not really necessary, because the next few bosses already have easily exploitable weaknesses. FlameEater (weak vs Ice), Utros (weak vs Fire and Poison), Chupon (weak vs Ice and Water), and AirForce (all parts weak vs Lightning and Water). Atma Weapon is then the only exception. He has no elemental weaknesses. So you would only have this one instance to really effectively use the Debilitator.

That's the best I've got.

That's good enough. The "disadvantage" I was referring to is that, if the debilitator changes an enemy's weakness to pearl or earth, your party will not be able to effectively use it because you don't get those attacks until the WoR.

You're up, Detah.

1. Gau has ChickenLip, which casts Quake. He also has a couple Magnitude8 Rages if you're not into Float and Gaia Gears. This may be true for flying enemies (especially the FC), but certainly not all.

2. Sabin's AuraBolt is Pearl-elemental.

I don't want to make a new thread for this, so I'll just ask it here. Do pearl-elemental attacks have the power to instantly kill undead enemies?

Thanks for clarifying this, Zed. I'd forgotten that Gau's Chickenlip rage was Quake. So theoretically, if Gau and Edgar were in the party, Gau had this rage, and Edgar had the debilitator stolen from the right MagiTek Crane, and the debilitator set the enemy's weakness to earth, Gau could cast Quake and make the battle easier? Not that WOB battles are very tricky (well, with the possible exception of Atma Weapon).

Furthermore, are ALL the enemies on the Phantom Train (Siegfried excepted) undead?

1. No. Pearl shares no direct relationship with Undead status.

2. Theoretically, yes. Practically, you wanted to say Magnitude8 and probably HadesGigas, 'cause you're not going to get ChickenLip pre-Airship.

3. Hazer isn't undead (first monster I could think of), so no.

The "Bomb" type enemy on the outside areas of the train is not undead either, as far as I recall.

Right as I hit reply I noticed that the pearl question was answered already.

If you have a piece of equipment which makes you weak versus Fire, then equip a piece of equipment which makes you immune to Fire, then equip a piece of equipment which makes you absorb Fire, then you are hit with a Fire attack, what happens?

you absorb it. it is always the best difference that wins. I will go further to say that obviously there is no possible way outside of hacking/glitching etc the game to get that setup.

I'm fairly certain Alphasmart's right, both in his answer and that you can't set up an equipment combination of more than two elemental defense effects.

a very simple question:

name at least 2 ways reflecting your enemy can work to your advantage.

1. If the enemy frequently uses healing or support spells on itself (the obvious answer)

2. So you can both enjoy the benefits of casting reflect your party (reflecting offensive spells) and still use healing and support magic (even if you can't adequately target it).

I probably don't have an insane enough knowledge of this game for an adequately difficult trivia question, but I'll do my best.

How can one get additional Snow Mufflers, and who are the only two characters that can equip one from your inventory?

Bet BehemothSuits at the Colosseum. Only Mog and Gau can equip them from your inventory since a certain yeti apparently glues his equipment to himself.

Cat hood - 50% fire immunity
Paladin Shield/Cursed Shield - Fire absorb/fire weakness
Minerva/Red Jacket - Fire immunity

It can be done with a merit award... but there's no real point. biggrin.gif
