Im sure there are lots of item/relic combinations to give really good effects. But, I just dont know about them. If anyone knows any good combos to get whatever effect, share them here. You might help more than one person. laugh.gif

Well, the strongest Combo's would be:

Gem Box & Econimizer

Offering & Gengi Glove

The Merit Award is good with anything.

Could you repeat that?

Yes... this world is filled with both Light and Darkness, though how long this delicate Balance will last I don not know.

Give gau the merit award, equip him with the tempest knife and have him rage stray cat.

Give mog or edgar the dragoon boots and dragon horn if they're equipping a lance, and they'll do a lot of damage (since the jump command does more damage when you're wearing a lance, compared to any other weapon).

Although the description doesn't show it, equipping 2x hero rings will give the same kind of boost to magical power as 2x earrings, but it will also increase your physical damage as well. Very handy at low levels if you want a powerhouse.

Give Shadow or Relm the Ribbon and Memento Ring, and they'll be immune to 99% of harmful status or instant death effects in the game. Couple this with items that add a lot to your mblock statistic, and you'll barely ever get hit by anything.

And one of the more popular ones is to load up on items that get your mblock rate to 128 or as close as possible. Due to a bug in FF3us and FF6j, the block% statistic does not actually do anything, whereas your mblock% blocks physical and magic attacks at the same time. Because of this, the white cape is more effective than the zephyr cape, since both have 10% mblock, but the white cape also grants spell immunities.

You can just use Hero Ring + Earring for the same effect - the second Hero Ring gives you no additional benefit over an Earring, and Earrings tend to be easier to get.

My usual "default" Relic combination, when I don't have anything better for a specific character, is Marvel Shoes + Hero Ring. Boosted physical and magical power, plus inherent Safe/Shell/Haste/Regen, are useful to just about anyone.

Black Belt + Offering is a nice combo with a strong weapon like Fixed Dice. "Ouch, you hit me! I'll kill you! And you... and you too for good measure."

These aren't particularly original, I'll admit, but really, how many "original" combos are left in this game? cool.gif

Some good relic combos have already been discussed in the thread,
http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...wtopic=974&st=0

By 'Item', I assume you mean eq.

As for good relic+eq combos,
The following combos will net you 128+ MBlock%

* Gau with Magus Rod, Tortoise Shd, Bards Hat, Force Armor, Merit Award and White Cape.
* Mog with Magus Rod, Aegis Shd, Bards Hat, Force Armor, Merit Award and White Cape
* Celes with Illumina, Tortoise Shd, Bards Hat, Minerva, White Cape and White Cape
* Shadow with Enhancer, Force Shd, Bards Hat, Force Armor, Merit Award and White Cape
* Relm with Magus Rod, Force Shd, Bards Hat, Tao Robe, White Cape and White Cape
* Terra with Ragnarok, Aegis Shd, Bards Hat, Force Armor, White Cape and White Cape
All at the same time, mind you. I guess this would be an optimal setup for the Final Battle.

Illumina + Paladin Shield + Force Armor + Mystery Veil + Economizer + Gem Box + WWind + Merton will let you heal while your enemies suffer.

Minerva/SnowMuffler + Paladin Shield + Marvel Shoes + Ribbon is the best all-around Defensive setup in the game.

One of my personal favorites:
Terra with Illumina, Paladin Sld, Green Beret, Minerva, Marvel Shoes and Ribbon. This is perhaps the best offensive and defensive setup that you can get in the game. 107% MBlock, Immunity or Absorb all 8 elements, immunity to all status effects, at L80 and above maxes out HP and MP, and has permanent Haste, Regen, Safe and Shell statuses.
