I hate poaching. I can never seem to get the rarer item.

Does anyone no a way to increase the chances of getting the rarer item?

As far as I know, there isn't a chance to increase your odds. However, I find it best to get whatever it is you want to poach on your team. That way you can bring it into battle, poach it, and if you didn't get the rare item you can just reload.

If you're trying to get the rarer items that dragons drop, don't forget about Reis' ability Dragon Tame. 100% invite. Also, it works on Hydras, Hyudras(or however you spell it), and Tiamats. And since the only place you can fight them with some frequency is END, inviting would be best in this case.

Hmm, never thought about the reloading thing. I always captured/invited a creature to my team that I needed, then breeded long enough to get the necessary upper level variant. If I needed, say, a Tiamat to get the Whale Whisker, I would breed until I had three Tiamats, take them into an easy battle and poach all three of them. That, and some fuzzy logic told me that I should have a 3 in 4 chance of getting something. Worked out okay, but it took a lot of time to breed that many creatures. To kill time inbetween, I just leveled up my characters. I had the hardest time with the Uribos though I remember. The damn pigs never wanted to breed me a better variant, so I don't think I got any ribbons...

I always invite them and go to goland coal city and lesalia imperial capital. I just walk back and forth between the two until I have 3 or 4 of the desired species. And I was thinking that the odds would be like 20%, but I've reset the stupid piece of junk like 30 times. I'm going crazy
