Okay, I'll probably look like an idiot with this post, but that's all right.

I am completely unable to get to Doom in Kefka's Tower. My second and third parties are both standing on switches, but when I take my first party down to where I dropped the weight, there is no door for me to go through to Doom. I can't figure out where I've gone wrong so that the door hasn't appeared. I've checked walkthroughs, and they all say, "Go down to where you dropped the weight. There is a door on the left which will take you to Doom." Only I have no door on the left. How do I get it?

I believe it means that there is a door on the left wall, and so walking left would get you through the door. I haven't done it yet though so I can't test that theory...

Nope, a solid door is supposed to appear. However, I went through about 20 other walkthroughs after I posted this and figured out where I was going wrong (I missed a switch wayback and had to go backwards), so now my post is needless and I look like an even bigger idiot.
