I was wondering, did anybody else notice the odd mix-up in a part of the FFT story? If you read one of the rumors, it says that Elmdor was killed by a stray arrow at Fuss Plains. But when you look at his profile, his age still appears! Normally, dead character's profiles' only show names and that's it. Does anybody else notice this or am I just nuts?

I saw it, but I think it is just there to add to the "mystique", if you will, surrounding the "Silver Noble". It could be a kind of coverup or just what you said, a rumor.

You know, I never thought his death was mentioned enough for it to really be astonishing that he comes back alive (and with two beautiful assassins) at the end of the Chapter.
It also seems from what you just found, that they added his death without much thought. It would strengthen the fact that he was never spoken about in character dialogue, only that rumor. -------------------- Visions of Peace - Four Generals, One Empire, and the Returners caught in the middle. |

I always thought he was "killed", then was brought back to life with the Zodiac Stone he received (which is the same time he became the Zodiac demon Zalera).

The Zodiac Stone is supposedly what brought him back alive, so I'm guessing he didn't die completely at the Fuse Plains because one couldn't turn into Lucavi without first accepting its help.

Hi all!
I think it's most likely that Elmdor was given a Zodiac stone as a gift, and he kept it on his persons until he was killed during battle, afterwhich (or at least on the verge of death) he was offered new life in exchange for his soul/co-operation. |

I'm not sure Sax-
I played the game recently, and I think the way it goes is that Elmador just has the stone and he tells Ramza and Meidoul that Meidoul's father is evil and that he got the stone from him. I'm still not sure, I may have interpreted this incorrectly. -------------------- "There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. I always assumed the zodiac stone is what brought him back as well. Why else would Elmdor act so evil so Ramza when you meet on top of Riovanes castle? Geez, way to say thanks for saving me from the Death Corps way back when.

There's an excellent story about this in the CoN's FFT Fanfic section. Props to Shotgunnova.

Marquis Elmdor was hit by a stray arrow most likely poisonous, because Marquis ELmdor, was a good guy in the begining, however he changed alliances during chap 2 onward, ShotgunNova is prob right, but notice how his age pops up as ?? opr Unknown, (only one game disc I have ever owned and I have had 5 of them (don't ask) has said the age after chap 2) He was also a vampire during the fight because he has the Blood Suck ability... He used Masamune alot but he also used Drain and Blood Suck ability quite alot.
I think he looked cool, but I believe Elmdor was thrown in there simply to be the Sephiroth of this game... (their pics are very very similar) as Long Silver Haired People obviously are powerful in Final Fantasy. Tellah, Fo So Ya, Sephiroth, Umaro, Elmdor. Not all of them human, but they are all very powerful in what they are doing. -------------------- "Good thing I don't live in a glass house... Throw Stone" Olan Durai ZodiacBrave Joe |

The most probably is he is dead, but the fact that he was revived means he is technically "alive" and then he can have another birthday...same for Malak, because he too was revived....marquis is really killed when you defeat him along with celia and lede (two beautiful Ultima Demons, not womens)) ^_^, you sound like you dìdn`t kill them first in the last battle with marquis........

Quote (Moglv99 @ 1st February 2005 19:25) (two beautiful Ultima Demons, not womens)) I was soooooooooo dissapointed! Anywho, I figured that he'd faked his death, but once he pulled a Wiegraf/Draclau with the stone I fell in line with the rest of you guys. ... and yes I vaguely remember having conflicting information about Elmdor's live or dead status, but maybe I originally thought the "stray arrow" death was from the old war and said, "no... I just saved that guy... I thought..." ... or maybe I didn't think that. -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |
