This is a sketch of the naga enemy Lamia in FF5. A naga is a snake person by the way.
Lamia I think I could make it look pretty suave if I took the time to put vector lines and give it color in photopaint. But thats the problem. I got virtually no break over the holidays. I just wanted to do SOMETHING for the site before my classes got too far along. It might be just a sketch but I thought it was submission worthy. I think its a nice pic but I screwed up with plenty of things. For one, as you might be able to tell, I couldn't come up with a good pose for her. I just think a random enemy character should have something other than a "I'm topless, cute, and in distress" look. I didn't do very well on the snake part either.  Awesome. I suggest drawing scales on the snake end, but that would probably take a while. And I know how you feel. Hot damn. That's awesome! She's so cute! Even if that wasn't your intended outcome, its still great. I think it's fine as is, no need for texturing or coloring.

You did this as filler, but it's still totally awesome.
 If I played FF4 more, I'd probably feel bad killing Nagas now... ya bastard... ;-P As for the pic, all I can say is that her snake part would probably be better if you didn't try to draw her crotch in, too, and just made it one whole piece.  -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... I'm usually not very partial to the manga-esque style, but dang you, your stuff always makes me forget that!

That's a fantastic drawing and I love it to pieces. Just one thing to ask about it though. Where are the scales on the top side of the tail? Nagas do normaly have scales there. Oh well, it might just be a FF V thing. I haven't gotten around to that one yet and Square does do some strange things sometimes. . .

Plus when I visualized her with a scale pattern covering her top side she didn't look very good. Too rough. Take a moment yourself to visualize that. Also think about how some snakes look. In a rattle snake's case its easy to see its scales. But think about a green tree boa. They appear very smooth and almost seem to not have scales. At least thats the impression I got from watching Discovery Channel. I could be wrong. The one thing I wanted to do but didn't out of PURE laziness was that I wanted to put a pattern of some sort on her top side...but I didn't. Eh....topless and cute worked out fine, you know  Besides, FF V's Lamia's are all about seducing the party members, so it's a suitable pose for her. -------------------- |
