If you want a good hint on how to level up faster, here is one:
If you get a wizard and learn frog with him, take him into battle. Take him, Ramza, Beowulf, a knight with power break, and the one you want to train. Kill all of the enemies but one. Use faith on him with Beowulf so all of the magic attacks you use on him will work (this status may go away after many turns, so you can use it again if you want) Cast frog on him and the person you want to train. If they both turn into frogs, cast Berserk on them with Beowulf. Use power break on both of them so they don't kill each other. Have Beowulf keep inflicting status effects on the enemy, and if he runs out of MP, use Aspel on one of the frogs, the wizard, or Ramza. Have Ramza use Scream, Yell, Accumulate, and Cheer Up (Put him on "Run Like a Rabbit" autobattle and he will do this himself) Have Beowulf drain all of the wizard's MP and make the wizard Run Like a Rabbit. If you want the person who is getting trained to gain a lot of JP, cast Haste and use Yell on them with Ramza every turn. After about 20 rounds (turns), the person should be around the level of your highest person and have over 2000 JP in that job and have a lot of JP in the jobs of the other characters that continuously used skills in the battle. Beowulf and Ramza both will have a ton of JP themselves, and this is good to use with Possible spoilers: highlight to view and the Exotic Knight Twins when you change their jobs. I'd rather use enemy's innate properties against them, or at play around with them. For instance, in Chapter 1, I would make a habit of levelling up by going to the Lenalia Plateau, killing all monsters but the Red Panther(s), then going out into the water to do the Hit-'n'-Chakra technique. Since Red Panthers have a "Cannot Enter Water" property, they just sit on the sidelines and watch, letting you Throw Stones or do all kinds of status magic.
That other way I was talking about is making the enemy run into the corner of the map through whatever form of coersion and petrifying two of my party members around the enemy to form a one-grid prison. Then you can do whatever you need to get JP. I mean, after hearing the ninety million ways to accumulate JP, it's a lot more fun to invent your own ways and even add a little challenge into the mix. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

I honestly prefer the simple ways of leveling a character. You know, Acumulate, use fight on eachother ect. That just seems too complicated for something that could be done far easier ArcKnight5000. Still, it is fun to see all of the little ways you could extend a fight. Here are some of my favorite ways to level:
1. Have all the characters fight eachother, move them around a Monk and have the Monk use Chackra. 2. Have one character hurt another then have a Priest use Heal Rod apon the injured. and 3. Constantly hurting then healing a single enemy. Not that these is anything new of course, just that I like them. Aren't they nice? -------------------- |

I agree with the two of you, but there is another way that I thought of last night.
If you have a gold chocobo, kill all of the enemies but one, corner the last enemy, and keep attacking. If anyone gets too hurt, then you could use the chocobo to cure all of the characters (including the enemy). If you put 2 of your units jobs as priests (or give them white magic), then you could have them Protect Allies autobattle. Have the chocobo Protect Allies, and the other two Defeat Enemies. It will give you alot of JP and EXP -------------------- "There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. Best way, don't puss out!!!! Earn 500 Squire Job Points, Gained Jp Up and Accumulate, then no matter what job you wanna level you get them stronger and the non stop job points... Use speed break on all the enemies or kill all the rest until you get to one, but make sure you have Basic Skill or Guts. then Gained Jp Up... It is the fasted way to gain jp.
theives are the easiest to level the char. Steal Preferably the xp Basic Dash Dragon Spirit or Auto Potion with X Potions as the lowest potion you have Gained JP Up Teleport/ Move+3/ or Move HP up trust me, I am the leveling master. Self Proclaimed of course but I did beat the game in 19 hrs once. Joe -------------------- "Good thing I don't live in a glass house... Throw Stone" Olan Durai ZodiacBrave Joe |

Don't forget about Move-Get JP, doesn't net you a lot, but every little bit helps.

Take a monk with chakra, knight with powerbreak, and any characters you want to level up (don't give these characters weapons). Kill all the creatures except one and seriously injure that one so it will leave you alone. then use power break on everyone you want to level up. Have them surround the monk and attack him and have him keep using chakra. Do this until you're satisfied.

Quote Don't forget about Move-Get JP, doesn't net you a lot, but every little bit helps. For only 2 JP to see a message of 2 seconds each time ya walk that is: "2 JP", I really prefer to take 2 more turns in thebattle than waste more than a whole minute and my patience sorry -------------------- Sayonara |

Well, actually, the further you move, the more JP (or Exp, whichever skill you use) you get. Throw some boots on a guy and you can get 8-10 points each time you move. Comes in handy when trying to finish out those job requirements.

Guys this topic is about levling up not jp. You'd want move exp up on. Plus your saying that you could get up to 10 points when you move. That's already one tenth of leveling up.

If it's lvling you want definatly steal xp from the theif... also have someone to steal your xp, once you gain the level you can demote lvl but keep the hp and other bonuses, if you then gain the level again, you are then stronger than the first time you geached said level.

My way to level up quickly (example for Cloud) :
battle in Mandalia Plains with Ramza (squire/time mage + no reaction abiliy + excalibur equiped), Orlandu (Holy Swordman + blade grasp), and cloud (any job/chemist + gained jp up/gained xp up + any items increasing his speed) First turn move orlandu to ennemy territory then let them trying to hit you (1% for success rate) you can kill anyone but one. Ramza and Cloud are close, first turn : Ramza casts haste on cloud, cloud hits Ramza in the back (99xp cause the differences between both levels is really high, but it will decrease..that means : only two action are necessary for Cloud to level up until it's 50th level i think), next turn : orlandu wait (any turn anyway) the ennemy stay close to him but cannot hit him due to his low success rate (thx blade grasp), any turn Ramza Yell Cloud (or cast Hast when necessary), and Cloud hits ramza in the back OR potion Ramza (depends on ramza HP).Repeat it until you have no ptotion/Hi-potion/X-Potion anymore. Anyway the best way is to make a low level interact with a high level.. It's not funny but it works This method allows to jp up at the same time.. If the guy you have to lvl up is a "basic" character just set him "basic skill" and apply the same method with orlandu and ramza but just accumulate with him at any turn. _excuse my bad english.._ |

So, you actually want a method to level up?
Here goes: You need a powerful character that will be able to kill groups of enemies all alone. Knight (I suggest Agrias) Excalibur (Auto-Haste) Crystal Shield (No magic Evade %) Ribbon(Girls Only)/Grand Helm Robe of Lords/Maximillian Chantage(Girls only)/Cursed Ring (+1 speed, PA, MA) Battle Skill (Speed Break, Power Break) Ying Yang Magic / Math Skill (Petrify) Blade Grasp/Abandon/Sunken State Anything Anything Mr. Youwannalvlmeup Any Job Any Equipment (No weapon/No PA+) Job Skill Item Speed Save Gained Exp UP Move Exp UP (It's OK without it) Now the process: 1- Kill all the enemies but an innofence one(no skills like "cat scratch"[poison hurts!]). 2- Reduce it's PA to minimum then it's speed. 3- Reduce the PA of the guy/the girl your want to level up as well to minimum. 4- Cast Petrify on your knight with either Ying Yang Magic or Math Skill. 5- Attack the innofencive monster and gain as much levels as you want. - If the Target's Hp is getting too low, throw at potion at it. 6- When you're done, throw a soft to your other character and use a finishing blow. -------------------- Sayonara |

Zodiac// Accumulate// Random Yells and Gained JP up is the best way to level.
always level on Barius Valley it's the most versatile place to level, plus it's run to the execution site, run to valley. Yeah I am the man -------------------- "Good thing I don't live in a glass house... Throw Stone" Olan Durai ZodiacBrave Joe |
