I'm gonna go with yes. There should be an arena that two friends can duke it out and see who is the true master of Final Fantasy Tactics. tongue.gif

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, there is a way to do it via gameshark, but you can only use characters from one memory card. I guess if you and a friend agreed on sharing a team so that each gets to level up and customize half of the group, it could work. There's also a co-op mode in FF Tactics Advance for GBA, but you can only use 2 people instead of 5 or 6 and it's co-op. Of course, whenever my friend and I did that, it just turned into a 2 v 2 battle with mutual enemies on the side. It'd be so cool to battle against friends with your FFT data!

I vote no cause the game wouldnt feel right if you could do that, think about it 2 ramzas? or 2 cids? that wouldnt be right at all, plus people could lie to you and use a team of invincible fighters to kill off all your guys. Not to mention what would be the point? you battle the charectors for what purpos? I doesnt advance the story any other wise they would of put it in there. Sure it could be fun but in general i think it could get too confuseing, especally since your charectors are programed to be a certain color, which would make it hard to tell the differeance between the two, meaning you could attack your own guys. Sorry just dont think its a good idea.

My God, Yes!

The ability to battle others custom teams is about the only thing missing in this game.

I definately would have loved to duke it out against other so-called FFT Masters, but only if the disc was magically cleansed of its translation errors and such. Being able to have each player load up his or her crew and fight would be exhilirating, especially after investing hours upon hours to get the equipment and skills needed to perfect your characters. You could even take it one step further and maybe include a co-op mode a la Four Swords where you and your opponent select six (three from each, or whatever amount) characters from each and fight against the computer-generated monsters/humans to get better armor or duplicates of hard-to-find items.

A map generator might be a good insert as well.

I would have to say yes for sure. Only problem is that for myself personally my ultimate team consists of all storyline characters. Odds are if I played anyone else, it would be a Cid on Cid, Ramza on Ramza, that kind of thing. Not much skill there. To truly test skill of who is "better", stick your starting parties against one another. Only at the start of the game was there really a lot of tactical thinking that had to go on. Once you get to a high enough level, one attack is enough to wipe out any enemy anyway.

I agree with Shotgunnova. A map generator would be a nice change of terrain.

Oh, I'm curious Lockes Alterego... ever play Diablo II? Seems like everyone in that game nowadays just want to duel, and as you say it serves no purpose.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Clear enough for ya? tongue.gif Seriously though, the game would be hundereds of times better with such a feature and it is already pure gold. It would add a reason to level, add some replay value and finaly give some extra challenge to the game. I'd be impressed if Square made a rerelease with an extra disk that would allow you to do that. Too bad they never will . . . sad.gif . Oh well I guess I could always day dream. *Thinks about killing T.G. Cid with a certain pair of assasins that I'm sure we all know.*

(P.S. I don't hate or even dislike Cid, he's just the most powerful character I can think of.)

I am very glad that most of you see this as a good thing, however, I can see the problem of seeing Ramza on Ramza, Cid on Cid, and Cloud on Cloud. That would be a bad thing, however, maybe the game would change the look of special characters to be all one type of people. Instead of Ramza fighting himself, Knight-looking Ramza will fight a Knight with the same name as him, for example.

There should definitely be an arena for FFT. It'd be awesome. And I'm with Shotgunnova on the map generator. that would be sweet.

Since everyone's level would be at 99--if they were prepared--you could maybe have the option to randomize levels. It could bridge the gap to have some level of strategy and difficulty.

If this option were in the game (which I am all for) I'm sure Square would fix it in some way where this wouldn't happen, like, give them different colors. Kind of like how your opponents have different colors. Give one team the enemy color and for characters that are main characters one would already be programmed in.

I say yes, or another cool idea to this would be FFTOnline where you play in Team battles (Each player uses one character, unique units such as Ramza, Agrias, and/or monsters can't be used to even things out, etc.). But still a 2 player FFT arena would definaely be a cool idea as well.

I have not yet found a computer AI which is more challenging than another player. The only time I played FFT¹, I was constantly wishing it had a multiplayer mode. I thought the class/combat system developed for this game was outstanding, but the player was never given an enemy challenging enough to test it on. I would definitly buy a multiplayer FFT.

¹ I played it for a couple weeks, I forget wether it was chapter III or IV that I quit on; I was disappoited with the lack of challenge.

Differing colors of some sort is the most likely choice; similar strategy games with that function just have opposing characters a different color. For FFT, I'm sure something special could be whipped up. Maybe choosing who you're fighting for? As in Billy wanting to be a Hokuten, Tommy wanting to be an Aegis Knight, Ronald being a Ryomaku, etc.

Not that'd it make much difference or anything, but it'd make more sense than having Ramza A red, Ramza B purple, Ramza C black, so on and so forth. Another possibility could be be denoting which side characters of similar names are, since they'll be the ones to get confused the most. Player-created names (Snoop Dogg, Duke of Humbert...) aren't going to be confused but names storyline characters probably will. Rather than the display being "Ramza (Green)" or "Ramza (Yellow)", you could just have their name color be that color, or have everyone on your team's name that color!

Not sure what you'd do on a black-and-white television though. tongue.gif

I think that the color scheme would work. That would make it a lot easier to know who's character is who's. Then you wouldn't have to use generic characters only. I only have one generic character, so that would really suck for me. biggrin.gif

Yes. I don't really see why anyone wouldn't say yes, even after it being explained. With colors, everything is fixed! And with everything fixed, the people who made the game need to have their heads examined for not putting it in the first place. I mean really, make a game with this much strategy possible, and then NOT have multiplayer? Tis insanity!

Well, I think of the game as a near perfect masterpiece as it is. Doing without a multiplayer function is easy for me, and I'd rather see it on a newer sequel/installment rather than the original. It would ruin the whole feel of FFT, I guess; multiplayer is nice, but on a plot- and battle-driven game, having all your friends crowd around and battle....meh.

It has been my dream since many years to be able to show true power to my opposants.
Oh and even if there were random levels for battles, there would be no way to kill my Agrias or my Reis. Orlandu is too old so he's no match lol all my other chars can beat a mere lvl99 TG Cid... thumbdown.gif

Well, I have been doing some battles of Free For All my 4 or 5 of my char (preferably 4 [one in each corner]) But I noticed that no matter what my Agrias was always winning...
Divine knight: Hellcry punch, Agrias punches, dead...

Oh, and we would have to change the game a bit if we would want it multiplayer...

A gril with a Chantage equipped plus a ribbon even with Maintenance and another char hiding in the back equipped with secret clothes/vanish mantle, Okay how the hell could you be able to win against that? Searching around casting fire???

I think people should have the choice to upload there team, or pick form a preset made list of all the chars (thus for more stragey i.e. the samarui has more skills but the regular fighter is a higher lvl)

This is definately an aspect I'd love to see. Being able to pit yourself against another player would be awesome in the Final Fantasy Tactics setting. Hence why I'm working on my current project.

i nulled this round cause i say yes and no. yes caues that would rock to see two people goin head to head. but no cause to have certain ablities like invisible to work you would need two separate tvs.
