figaro cave help

im stuck i went to figaro cave following gerad and the thieves i saved and when i returned the thieves werent there now i cant figure out how to use the turtle.please help me.

Okay, I barely understand you so tell me if I'm wrong. What you want to do is get past the "Magic Turtle" in the cave going to Figaro Castle, right?
If that is what you mean, it a simple process. Here it is: 1. Align yourself to the door on the other side of the water. Make sure that you're facing up twords it. 2. Wait until you see the turtle get inbetween you and the door. 3. Press the A button and you should jump across to the door. That's it, simple isn't it? After you can just continue the game. -------------------- |

the turtle is not moving he is stationary i have tried everything i can think of i keep going in circles and getting back to the same place i hope i didnt ruin it by saving somehow but since ive been in the cave i havent seen the thieves at all is there something i need to do to make sure they come?
