The heck are these things for?! I have a treasure and 2 or 3 secret places and other than the story menu acknowledging my possession of them, they appear to have no benifeits for me. Anyone know what they are for?

You mean you can't find the treasure, or you're getting the weaker item? Cos to get the REALLY good items you need your Brave VERY low. I use Baowulf's Chicken to get it to at least 10...

He's talking about rewards from doing propositions, Mu, not finding items on the battlefield.
No, there is no significance to them other than their tieins to other FF games, Kresin. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? Or perhaps buying a really good looking shirt? |

Yeah, the Propositions and the rewards are just fun little references that broaden the scope of Ivalice, most mapping out daily routines or current news.
It'd be nice if they had more of a purpose, but they don't, sadly. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

I thought those were fun to find, a little diversion while/from random battling. Lord knows propositions were the only way I managed to build up my generics into the powerhouses they became. I become a Master Adventurer, and an almost Master Treasure Hunter. This sucks, cuz I'm only three items away from being a Master Treasure Hunter... but I think I missed those treasures way back in Chapter One, when I didn't do any of the propositions! *sigh* Oh, well. I suddenly became re-obsessed with this game again, so maybe I'll do another casual play through soon, and get 'em all this time.

From what I remember, you can't do any propositions in Chapter One.
The three you're missing are probably the Treasures you get from the Annual Contests (those are the ones I'm missing, too). Edit Oh, and propositions carry over into the next chapter if you don't do them, iirc.
