Ok, I am in the middle of an arguement with a friend, he's going to go with 3 fighters and a white mage, because he doesn't like his current fighter monk white black combo...
Anyways, what this lead me to is to create the ff1 job challenge, I'm going to be trying 1 white, 3 black mage combo, ( i know i know i know i know, it's gonna be nuts), but hell why not! Any other Ceerraazzy combinations you guys have to suggest? I mean, you gotta be nuts, like....... totally -------------------- Adma <3 CoN |

1 White and 3 Black will be difficult, but far from impossible. There's a walkthrough somewhere out here on the internet of a guy doing the original NES version with all White mages. According to his log, the hardest battle besides Chaos was the Evil Eye, in the Ice Cave.

Yeah, I actually read the entire walkthrough well before I ever touched the game
![]() But now that I *have* seen the game, I would guess it'd be much harder to do a Black Mage challenge. For all the 8-bit Theater hype around it, Black Mage Stabbing inflicts close to NO damage whatsoever, and your spells run out pretty quickly. My WM has always rivaled my Thief in physical power and in the parts I've played so far, a WM challenge would be much easier then a BM challenge. -------------------- |

maybe I'll sub in 1 wm for 1 of the bms, but I still think it would be a good idea to just do the 1wm 3bm combo, I mean, I'd have lots of spells... right?

For my money, the hardest challenge possible would be ONE white mage. Get the other three characters killed in the forests around Corneria, and then proceed with the lone WM. I've heard of this being done with one fighter, but never, EVER with just one lonely WM. If you can do that, Adma, you win the brass balls 04' award.

IF this is the origanal, than try a party of 4 thieves, it will drive you insane. But if it is the Gameboy Advance version, try 2 thieves, a fighter, and a red mage. Because they seriously overpowered the thieves in FF1&2 Dawn of New Souls.

The hardest challenge ever would have to be the lone Thief challenge. With pathetic damage and being incapable of equipping most armors, Thieves are by far the worst classes. My friend beat a SSCC with each of the 6 classes, and he said that Thief was thw hardest followed by Black Mage. Of course, he did evolve into Master and BW, respectively. He said that the WM/WW challenge was remarkably easy considering you can heal and use Ruse (for every battle, he'd just Ruse and Fog to the point where he cudnt be damaged and then attack away). Fun fun fun. I haven't had the time nor the patience to attempt a SSCC myself, though.

I killed Chaos with a lone White Wiz once, on my friends game, but wasn't so hard. She was on lvl 58 but I just keept casting Curaga/Curaja and using Gauntlet Of Giants (is that the right name? I don't remember), and when I had nearly 300 str, I just started doing 6000 dmg per attack and... you know. Wasn't so hard at all.

is that easy mode on origins or DoS? easy WOULD be easy, on most everything...
------- I am playing a SCC (Single Character Challenge) of a single thief. I am not going to do class change either. I think it will be the hardest possible party. BTW I am doing this on a NES rom with no savestates. I am level 24 and cannot beat Astos... I am gonna do 1 Wm (no c.c.) nest, it will be SOOOO much easier. http://storm.prohosting.com/coleco/wm/index.html Go here if you want to see journals of several extremely hard challenges. I suggest reading the 1 RM and 4 WM challenges, they are the most studious in not cheating (a la savepoints) and both do not use class change. 4 thieves is hard, but not nearly as hard as 1. They do a lot more damage per turn, and can take out groups easily. Also stunning is not so much of an issue. 1 BM or 1 BW would be cool too, you would at least be able to take out groups. ----- If you want a less hard challenge, try 1 fighter or one monk (with or without c.c.). They are a lot easier, especially the fighter. I've beaten Chaos with 1 knight, the first time I ever played FF1 I did. 4 of one kind is a lot harder than 3 of a kind and 1 other. As soon as you get into 2 kinds of classes, they start canceling out each other's weaknesses. 4 of a kind just magnifies them, almost as much as a SCC. |

I tought the maximum level was 50....the real challenge would be clear the game without class change, and I go with two bl.mages, one wh.mage an a thief, really hard until you get the masamune

My challenge in FF1 is any party with a Theif. Early in the game my Theif is always dying wheras my other characters either don't die or die far less often than my Theif. So I started a new replacing my Theif with a Monk and so far, so good.

Quote But now that I *have* seen the game, I would guess it'd be much harder to do a Black Mage challenge. Not true. While the WM can do a good deal o' damage to a single target early on, later in the game after much levellage the BM has the insane multi-target magic that can easily speed up battles from the middle onward, while all WM can do really is hurt the undead. ![]() -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

Moderator Edit Please tell me what's "crazy" about that combo. -R51 This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 25th February 2005 12:03 |
