I am not 100% sure I understand your question.
Do you mean 'which status effects can you encounter and therefore block at the point in the game when you can first acquire the Ribbon', then I'll take a shot at it. The Ribbon makes you Immune to BERSERK, DARK, IMP, MUDDLE, MUTE, POISON, SEIZURE, SLEEP, STONE, and ZOMBIE. You can first acquire the Ribbon at S Figaro in the second basement. Now if by 'when you first encounter', you mean 'in the general vacinity of S Figaro', then the enemies with a status effect (blockable by Ribbon) are: Bleary's Slumber (=Sleep aka Psyche), Crawly's Heartburn (=Seizure), Heavy Armor's Missile (=25% HP + Seizure), Primordite's Poisonbarb (=Poison), and TunnelArmor's Poison (=Poison). So the answer is Sleep, Seizure and Poison. |

Quote In other words anything the ribbon can make you immune to, before you can first get it. Ever since the beginning of the game to the earliest point you can equip it. Also only the ones that can be casted on you, not by other enemies onto themselves. Does that help clarify my question or am I just a bad writer? Your answer came from the confusion I caused, I am sorry to say you are wrong.Quote By it of course I meant the ribbon.I do not want all the status effects in the game, just the ones you can get by the first time you get it. Clarifing hint/Semi spoiler: Possible spoilers: highlight to view Also now that you gave away the tricky part, I mean doing Lockes Senario first. Not Sabin's or Bannon's. Otherwise, you wouldn't be getting the Ribbon ASAP. Edit Okay, I must be a bad writer. Here is the answer. You get the ribbon first in Lockes Senario past the clock. That means that from the begging of the game you can have these negetive effects casted on you by an enemy: •Sleep in the cave from Figaro to South Figaro. •Siezure in the the cave from Figaro to South Figaro. •Poisen in multiple instances first place being Mount Kolts. •Confuion from the lore stone in Mount Kolts. •Darkness during the first half of the Raft Ride to Narshe. Then the game Splits up into the three senerios where you can choose Locke's Senerio and get the Ribbon. This means the next question is now up for grabs. Sorry for any confusion from my bad, bad grammer. Next question up for grabs. This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 18th November 2004 20:10 -------------------- |

Ok... I'll take it if that's ok. Here it is. I don't know if this will be too easy or not... but here goes.
In the Narshe caves there is an area that you can go that has in no way anything to do with the storyline. Hidden in that area is a special item you can find no where else in the game (at least in the WoB.). What is that item, and what does it do? Give the most specific detail that you can. ~T. Inside, you can find a rune edge sword which consumed MP to inflict a mortal blow, and can't be found until Nikeah in the world of ruin. |

Apart from stealing it from Number 24, which can also hold the first Drainer you can receive in the game.

Easy one for website crawlers: which enemy on the solitary island desert teaches you a lore, can be stolen from to stockpile an amazing rare item (at least, if you don't steal from it! hehe), and only gives you 1xp per kill?

Earth Gaurds.
You can steal Mega Elixers and can sorta learn Big Guard from them. The reason I say sorta is because I always needed the fake mushtashe. I don't know if you need the Fake Mushtashe, just that I always did. You only get to see the Earth Gaurds in the desert section of the Solitary Island. However, since I still don't have a save in WOR, I can't double check my facts. Either I or MM is correct. That is because those are the two of the only three enemies at the SI. The only other enemy in the SI can be fought elsewhere. Not to mention, it doesn't meet these requirements at all. It was a Zombone pallet swap if I remember correctly. If I got the right answer the next question is up for grabs. This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 20th November 2004 17:38 -------------------- |

In what order does the ending go in? ( as in what characters go first, and assuming you have all the characters) I'm sorry if I've already asked this question befoore, I'm just too lazy to go check >.> |

I guess Dark Shadow is not coming back.
Next trivia question is now open. I have quite a few. Let's start with a pretty easy one. Little thought required. Which character has the largest selection of equipment (to wield, wear, or utilize)? please provide some explanation. ie. Just posting the name of 1 of the 14 playable characters is not sufficient. I think this question has been asked but I am not absolutly certain.
The obvious choice is Terra. She is with you since the beggining of the game and has most of the story wraped around her. She can equip some Special weapons like Flails in addition to the more common Dirks and Swords. She does have a large selection of weapons. However she isn't my choice. She would be too obvious, woudln't she? I will guess Edgar because he can equip Lances. I think there are quite a bit more Lances then Specials in the game if memory serves me right. Either that or they are just more common because I remember seeing my Items cluttered with them. Edgar can also equip some of the rarer swords that some others can't. The only other person who can equip Lances is Mog. And I know Mog isn't the answer. In addition, Edgar does join fairly early being the third person on your team. If I am right the next question is up for grabs. If I am wrong does it have to do with Merit Award? It would just be my rotten luck if it did. -------------------- |

Okay that is a good question, and a very cryptic hint. Here is my final answer after a little more thought:
Relm- The reason I will give is the Merit Award. Merit Award describes itself as being able to allow you to equip Heavy Equipment. Not only that but it delivers. Just about every weapon in the game can be equiped with this amazing relic on. Swords, Knives Lances, Claws and different types of armor. Basicly whole kit 'n kaboodle. But it doesn't allow you to equip everything I.E. Dirks if you can't already. That would be because that the Dirks are not heavy. Relm originaly can only equip Rods, Brushes and maybe some Specials (I am not certain about that last one.) I would imagine a paint brush would most likely be very light ![]() This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 25th November 2004 06:48 -------------------- |

Yes. Relm is correct for the reason given. I accidentally left my notes at work Wednesday. I will provide the full details on Monday. Tonepoet is up.
EDIT I made a booboo. The answer is Gogo, not Relm. But you were on the right track with the Merit Award usage. Heres the breakdown. The Merit Award allows you to equip/wear all weapons & armors in the game except: Weapons (18) Atma Weapon, Ninja Star, Shuriken, Tack Star, Bone Club, Air Anchor, AutoCrossbow, BioBlaster, Chainsaw, Debilitator, Drill, Flash, NoiseBlaster, Bolt Edge, Fire Skean, Invis Edge, Shadow Edgte, Water Edge. Armors (15) Cat Hood, Hair Band, Mystery Veil, Oath Veil, Regal Crown, Tiara, Behemoth Suit, Chocobo Suit, Czarina Gown, Minerva, Moogle Suit, Nutkin Suit, Snow Muffler, Tabby Suit, White Dress The following Relics (14) have restrictions of some kind. Blizzard Orb, Coin Toss, Czarina Ring, Dragon Horn, Dragoon Boots, Economizer, Fake Mustache, Gem Box, Genji Glove, Memento Ring, Moogle Charm, Rage Ring, Sneak Ring, Thief's Glove. ------ Now for a bit of math. Let X = all Items, of which everyone can 'use' except Umaro Y = all Weapons & Armors which everyone can equip. Which gives us our final equippable list: Terra X+Y+13 Locke X+Y+8 Cyan X+Y+5 Shadow X+Y+14 Edgar X+Y+15 Sabin X+Y+6 Celes X+Y+13 Strago X+Y+10 Relm X+Y+20 Setzer X+Y+6 Mog X+Y+7 Gau X+Y+6 Gogo X+Y+25 Umaro Y+4 So you can see that Gogo can equip/wear/utilize 5 more than Relm. Gogo can wield/wear/utilize every item in the game except 22 (Atma Weapon, Bone Club, Cat Hood, Hair Band, Mystery Veil, Oath Veil, Regal Crown, Tiara, Behemoth Suit, Chocobo Suit, Czarina Gown, Minerva, Moogle Suit, Nutkin Suit, Snow Muffler, Tabby Suit, White Dress, Blizzard Orb, Czarina Ring, Memento Ring, Moogle Charm, Rage Ring). While, Relm can wield/wear/utilize every item in the game except 27 (Atma Weapon, Ninja Star, Shuriken, Tack Star, Bone Club, Air Anchor, AutoCrossbow, BioBlaster, Chainsaw, Debilitator, Drill, Flash, NoiseBlaster, Bolt Edge, Fire Skean, Invis Edge, Shadow Edge, Water Edge, Regal Crown, Minerva, Snow Muffler, Blizzard Orb, Coin Toss, Moogle Charm, Rage Ring, Sneak Ring, and Thief's Glove) This post has been edited by Detah on 29th November 2004 17:09 |

Yhea, only two guesses and the answer is my avatar. I count only two because I passed Terra up during my first guess, despite giving a reason for her. I am looking forward to those notes Detah. The next question is up for grabs.
Edit Don't worry about the "booboo" Detah, we all make mistakes sometimes even the best of us. I was so close, but I thought the question was a little differnt when I answered. For some reason I thought it was 'Who can equip the most weapons in the game'. In fact is was: Quote I would have been right too, if only either Tools or throwing weapons werent' taken into account. Didn't think of those because you can't equip them because like I said, I was answering a slightly different quesion. That was a good one Detah, looking very much forward to your next one. I am also want to point out that both the two day limit and Detah's answering of the question, means the next question is up for grabs still. Just incase anybody was confused about that.Which character has the largest selection of equipment (to wield, wear, or utilize)? somehow I feel this topic needs a bump. dont ask why. and since a (somewhat easy) question has popped into my head, what better time? fingers on buzzers everyone!
how many times in a row can a single enemy be landed on after jumping, without another action by a character being able to be made? clarification is on tap, just ask. I have a feeling my answer will be different to that of djibriel, master ZED etc for reasons based on scripting, but never mind. -------------------- "Fire and steel follow me through the lands you will burn hordes of hell in the deadly raging flames of revenge" Rhapsody - Flames of Revenge |

Wouldn't it be with 2 Dragon Horns and the Esper that cast's Jump on the party? And I thought Dragon horn only caused Jump for 1-4 attempts. So wouldn't it be 8 per Dragon Horn x2 character. So 4 x 8 is 32.
32 Jumps That would be something to witness. This post has been edited by Wooster on 12th December 2004 04:24 |

Easy question for a Cid fan and completist like myself. Cid is in the Blackjack(airship) trying to help Setzer fix it, a funny cutscene to watch. I think Cid is kicked off at the end of said scene. That means the trick answer might be Vector, since if you go to the airship and watch this hillarious event, Cid might go back there. I'm not sure about that though. This is also the first time Darryl is mentioned in the game, poor Setzer misses her so much. This is an easy to miss event since it is one of the few optional things you can do in WoB. As always. If I am right, the question is up for grabs.

strange...I never saw such a cutscene, but as it's optional I must have missed it.

You're correct.
To view the Cid event, leave Vector and travel backwards to the Blackjack. It's a rare event to view because the player is more concerned with traveling to the Port and/or the locked storage room then finding the rest of your clan. |

on zsnes, a recent thing to notice:
Celes, 9% innate illumina: 50% force shield: 50% bard's hat/mystery veil: 10% force armour: 30% zephyr/white cape x2: 20% total: 169%! a bit pointless, but hey: who cares. for the record, mog does have 9% more mblock but can't equip the illumina without merit award, and thus has a 1% less disadvantage. and finally, this may be stating the obvious, but Mabic? what's Mabic? -------------------- "Fire and steel follow me through the lands you will burn hordes of hell in the deadly raging flames of revenge" Rhapsody - Flames of Revenge |
