Shiva is my personal favorite. Who doesn't like watching their enemy become pelted with 1000s of ice shards? & she is the element Ice, so she helps when fighting, fire, earth, and water enemies. The all around helpful summon!

Close between Bahamut, Leviathan and Ark from FF9.
I voted Levi, though, mainly because of my empathy with water. Emu out -------------------- "It's real cute till it grows six heads and giant claws... Then it's adorable..." ~me |

Bahamut, by far. I've always loved how that dragon looks every time I see him.... although the FFX one looks best

"Brothers" from FFVIII was always my favorite summon. The two Minotaur brothers that represented Earth, for all of you FF8 illiterates. The damage from them wasn't bad at all, and their animation was awesome.
All of the other FF8 summons came in a close second - all of them! ![]() -------------------- You know. I think you're a very special unit. |

I have to go with the masses here. Bahamut from IV (US Snes[the only version I played]) and VI is my favorite. In IV he was simply the most powerful thing in exsitence. I also loved to use him against his evil twin Wryven. Also he was the God of Summoned Monsters. In VI howerver he looked neat and did the most powerful offensive attack(equal to Ultima). Crusader looked cool and hit for high damage too, but hurt your party. I always hated that about crusader.
Bonus points to Bahamut because I love dragons. I didn't like his FF VII incarnations, the first two looked like they had parkinson's disease. As for Zero well, I never liked how he stole the spotlight, neat animation tough. Honerable mention to: Odin Leviathan Pheonix Golem -------------------- |

I played Tactics the other day and remember how freakin' awesome it was to have golem and let yourself get "hit". Also I totally forgot about Pheonix, shouldn't forget Pheonix, ressurrection and damage=

Quote I'd say Bahamut from IV, because IV's Summons are the only ones with a personal story, and Bahamut is ultimate. What about FFVI, DP? What about Maduin, Terra (Esper), Odin, and a few others? My favorite summon is Bahamut, from Final Fantasy V. Why Final Fantasy V's? Because I just loved the effects and the way it looked. I think Bahamut from this looks better than FFVI's! |

My favourite summons come from my least favourite game. Cactuar, Tonberry, and Siren from FFVIII are definitely up there. I also liked Shiva from FFX.

I voted for Odin. His Zantetsuken instant death attack is awesome and even cooler when it's replaced by another attack that deals damage when ineffective against bosses. Of those not listed, Hades from FFVII and Doomtrain from FFVIII are my favorites for the status detriments. I liked Valefor from FFX as well. All in all, my proverbial "top three" woud be Alexander, Hades/Doomtrain, and Odin.

Alexander. The coolest looking summon in my opinion. Also the only summon to have a holy element.

Yep, Alexander is awesome! Doomtrain is great even though it sort of feels like cheating. Eden rocked as well.
erm... then there's Knights of the Round. I wailed on the weapons and Sephiroth with that one. Link that HP/MP Absorb and Mimic and they're lucky if they can touch you! ![]() -------------------- Quote Do you think we're forever? |

Odin, cause he is one of the summons that have a greater connection with the game than any other (exceptions would be Bahamut and Greiver which is in FF8 only)

THe best summon ever? It has to be the Magus sisters from ff10. IT was like a whole party of aeons that could own anyone.
Knights of the round is a close second, but it took way to long to execute. Edit OH OH!!! ODIN!!!!!!!!!!! Zantetsuken owns everything.
