I completely forgot about this thread.
![]() Oh well. The question's open, so I can still get it. I was going to do something difficult, but since it's been five days, I'll whip out something to revive the thread instead. Q: CatScratch Wind Slash, in damage, is actually very similiar to a particular summon. When any one given person uses either, the damage is about the same sans random variance (perhaps eversoslightly in favor of Tempest/Stray Cat Rage though). What Esper am I talking about? The only reason this isn't difficult is because the choices are finite, someone will get it eventually if enough guesses are made. -------------------- |

Nope. CatScratch Wind Slash exceeds Tritoch in power. Again, I'm looking for an equivilent. My only hint, since this isn't the best question in the world, is that usually you don't want the Esper.

I would have to say Crusader. Not many people use him, or go kill off all 8 dragons. Because the only other is Ragnarock (except it doesn't do damage) which people pick the sword sometimes and get the Illumina.

Quote (Green Magi @ 21st October 2004 16:50) I would have to say Crusader. Not many people use him, or go kill off all 8 dragons. Correct on the Esper, but you totally missed the reasoning behind the hint (like it mattered but still), as alot of people get and use him for MP + 50%, Meteor, and Merton. The reasoning was that Purifier strikes you as well, hence why you don't want the Esper most of the time. Anyway, the only real difference damage-wise between Purifier and Wind Slash is their Bat.Pwr, 190 to 48, as their other damage properties are the same (ignore split damage). When Tempest is combined with CatScratch, the 4X multiplier makes up the difference in damage and theoretically, CatScratch Wind Slash can be thought of as having a Bat.Pwr of 192. A direct comparison of Tempest/Stray Cat and Purifier, both used by the same person, reveals their damage in practice truly is about equal sans random variance, so even if my mathematical reasoning is out in left field, I'm still correct on the final outcome. IOW, CatScratch Wind Slash is an elemental, focused variant of Purifier. It's nice to know there's a spell in the game you can use to measure potential Wind God damage with, but it makes me even sadder about Pugs Rage being left out. A theoretical 384 Bat.Pwr would rule, but alas, I am left with Morph/Purifier to do that with. ![]() You're up Green Magi. If they put the Pug rage in, then Gau would be too powerful. He would be like a CelesxIlluminaxAtma Weapon (the sword) combo. Purifier hits you too? Well that would explain why my characters get hurt for no reason every time I use that... But anyway here is the question.
I hope this wasn't asked before but, what 2 characters do you need to fight, not fight with or fight for but actually fight, to get? -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

Which tactic can you use to kill Doom Gaze, but NOT get Bahamut?

If Doom Gaze is sucked up by X-Zone then the Bahamut Magicite goes with him (Cos he's swollowed it n' all, good call Square). Commonly people would use Vanish > X-Zone rather than just X-Zone.

And that's mostly because just X-Zone doesn't work. Vanish/Atom Edge, Vanish/True Edge and Vanish/Snare all belong to possible combo's to not get Bahamut.
I swear to all that is Mountain Dew on this planet I've seen it die and not give Bahamut without this tactic, but I haven't been able to do it again so far, and my initial guess as to what it caused turned out wrong ![]() For the record, I consider this an add-on to Mu's answer, so don't bother giving me the next one. -------------------- |

Lucky I went with Vanish>X-Zone then. ^-^ The others I've heard, but I thought he wanted the most common one...plus not getting it via X-Zone makes more sense. ^^ Right, a question..hmm.. Well, what with this name I'll ask; How many different monsters are there with the Mu sprite? Please name them too. -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |
