the worst game ive ever played was in my opinion, wolfenstien for the xbox. it had shoddy controls. bad graphics for the Big Black Box and bad multiplayer.
and i do remember the E.T. game. there even was a cheat to make the game crash forever. if you put it in right the game would never load again! ![]() This post has been edited by deathscythemax on 7th May 2004 13:45 -------------------- Disasterchild8 brought me to this site! Ugh, I hated this game with a burning passion. It was just so...stupid (for lack of better word). I also thought Simon's Quest was pretty decent. It was too easy, but it was fun.
Star Trek: Starship Creator was pretty darn bad. Privateer II: The Darkening (Wing Commander universe), was a massive disapointment after the superb Privateer. Any Barbie game from what I've seen. I really don't care for Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy XI, but I can't award them "worst game" because they do have some very good points to them. |

Am I the only one who didn't think the ET game for Atari 2600 was all that bad? Usually people just complain about getting themselves stuck in pits all the time, which (besides having nothing to do with the movie) wasn't THAT big a deal. Sure, you have to mash the joystick a lot, but still. Once you've gotten the hang of it it can be somewhat entertaining. Course, it's been many years since I've played it, so my opinion may change if I dig out the system and give it another go.
The worst games I can remember off the top of my head are... Hydlide (NES) - Ugh. It's from the same people who brought us Heroes of the Lance, so it being awful is no surprise. Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero (N64) - Luckily I only rented this one, but cripes is it horrible! I was expecting the usual tournament battles and versus fights and everything, not a boring pseudo-adventure/beat 'em up with crappy controls. At the very least they coulda given Scorpion the spotlight or something... Adventures of Dino Riki (NES) - A sad attempt at making a prehistoric action/adventure game into a third-person shooter. If your character didn't always move so damn slowly to where he can't dodge crap it might actually be fun, but nooooooo. You die too quickly to have any fun. Unlimited Saga (PS2) - Just thinking about it makes my brain bleed. Eh, there are loads more I can't think of. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. - Murphy’s Law Boing! If not then you can beat it in like 25 minutes. As for Dance Dance Revolution, this might sound a little cocky or asshollish but it's my opinion. I think alot of people say they don't like it because they lack the ability to do it or they don't like the fact that it's like playing a musical instrument in the sense that you have to practice to get good at it. Most people that I know play it once and stomp off saying "man that game's retarded" and yet they found it interesting enough to play it the first time. I know this is usually the case also because I did pretty much the same thing the first time I played it. I said it sucked for a whole year before I went back and played it again. Since then I've been playing in the arcade for almost two years now and I love it now that I'm good at it. So for most that say that they hate it, they probably just can't do it. I don't think anyone's mentioned these, so I think they deserve to have their dreadfulness recognised.
First of all, Wanderers From Ys, for the SNES. This is a little known game, for a VERY GOOD REASON. This cursed wretch of a sidescroller had graphics that belonged on the NES, and gameplay that left me writhing with loathing... The second was Barbie Race and Ride for the PS1. My friend actualy owned this game, and after 5 days of Vidio game deprivation, I was reduced to playing this, her only game. Let me tell you that Barbie was a degrading enough charecter without having the abbility to speak. Even the horse sucked. You could only pick names for it like "Daisy" and "Sugarlumps." I never even looked at that game again. I only hope it's not to late for my friend... -------------------- TURKEY! - (The only way not to get blocked for using Fowl Language) |

How many Army Men games are there? I could of sworn it's ideal to stop making crap when everyone calls it that.
The Resident Evil series just irks me. You're supposed shoot things that may or may not be on-screen when you can't aim well in third person? Then it's just a classic Capcom series where a sequel comes out every year or two without any breathtaking changes. |

Resident Evil 4 is set in a full 3D environment and (I think) will allow first-person aiming/shooting. Of course, I haven't been paying the least bit of attention to how the game's coming along, so don't take my word for it.
I do like the series, but now that you mention it Resident Evil Zero was horrible in my opinion. Switching between characters lost its novelty quickly and the utter lack of item boxes meant wasting your time running ridiculously far out of your way just for a freakin' key/ammo/etc. Halfway through the game I had a single room filled with so many sparkling 'dropped' items it looked like an army of pixies had stormed the place and flung glitter everywhere. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. Oh sure, no plot, no story, just a rifle scope and a few dead deer. 2) The Sims Whee! Hours of staring at a few idiots who speak gibberish doing the stuff that YOU would have been doing if you weren't staring at them! Y'know, doing the real thing would probably save electricity. Nobody mentioned Mario is Missing for the SNES . . .
I am going to give everybody the benifit of the doubt and assume nobody else played. I actualy bought the sucker, just got it because I love Mario and the games he is in. This waste of two bucks money also has Luigi in the star role, saving Mario. Which at the time made, it seem like a wonderful addition to my Super Nintendo collection. Despite all that it had going for it, it was awful. The only diffuculty it provided, was playing through to the end. You had to walk for hours, retriving stolen landmarks, from koopas that just walked right by you. Once you did this task you had to bring said landmark back to where it came from. This must be the game where the Princess Toadstool is stupid cliéche comes from. I say this because she quized you to see if it was real. If you can't recognize Big Ben, somthing is wrong with you. Once in a while there were "bosses", that were exactly the same as the koopas and did nothing but walk through you. The final boss was exactly the same as the rest. I only played all the way through because I couldn't belive a Mario game could be so awful. To this day I refuse to buy Luigi's Mansion.
