Edward again, although the "Spoony Bard" did sort of make history.

we all know that nearly every one hates edward, but what people in thier right mind would hat edge, he is funny comical amusing, ninja of the group, how could anyone hate that horn-dog
*and if final fantasies are linked edge could very well be edgar VI great ancestor as well as sabin's

but back to topic, i can very well see why people would hate edward, but not edge

and i still hate edward very much

Edge can go to hell. He is a cocky ninja who is pathetic to everyone compared to everyone else at the end of the game. I have this hate for him because he claims to be a ninja, but just sucks! he is the worst ninja from all of the final fantasy games. See, you should know not to expect much out of Edward, he is a goofy bard. Bards sing, not fight. Tellah is an old has been, and what do they do? They die, so I didn't expect much out of him either. Ninjas? Ninjas are made to kill, and not only that, keep to themselves. Edge couldn't kill squat, and got beat down by some old man who had previously blown himself to pieces. (go Cid! You tha man!!)

In any case, I detest Edge. In all reality, he's not even a ninja. He is some jerk wearing a stupid mask that pretends to be cool, but isnt!

strong argument, a very strong argument, but you probably just don't know how to use him
and if you look at it, edge and shadow(ffVI) have a lot in common between abilities, and weapons, the only difference is that edge wasn't given powerful weapons, so he cant't do much damage, also he didn't have anything like genji glove/offering combo, to allow him to do multiple attacks, and to top it off you probably just don't know ho to use edge in battle, he is meant for throwing weapons, shurikens etc. if you use him right he can do just as much damage as rydia with her strongest magics, you just have to learn how to use him.

don't go dissing edge he just wasn't given the opportunities, it seems the creators wanted you to use him with throwing weapons, not attacking.

if you look at it, not-so strong weapons are the only thing holding him back, besides low HP

and edge very much so is a ninja, you have no proof he is not a ninja

proof he is a ninja:
just like in all other final fantaqsies he meats qualifications: equips two weapons, and can throw weapons

*edward is still the worst character he is too much of a wuss

That's an interesting perspective. But I think that silent/serious-stereotype didn't come around until Shadow. Before him, a ninja's personality was open-game.

I always thought a ninja was supposed to be a silent-but-deadly type of person, and Edge was completely not like that. He was arrogant, he hit on ladies (well, Rydia), he thought he was this cool tough guy (and he got his @$$ kicked by Rubicant), and basically made a fool of himself.

He's pretty useful in battle, as he can Dart (or for those of you who haven't seen the older versions, Throw) things for extreme defense-ignoring damage, and he can steal stuff. He also has ninja magic, which is generally useless against powerful enemies, but can be useful against a bunch of puddings. And Sneak (Steal in newer versions) can get you a bunch of Ethers if you know how to do it.

But I always thought he was an arrogant brat. Needless to say, I never liked him for his personality, despite how much I might find his skills useful.

Nevertheless, I still find Edward the most useless in battle. But I would prefer to be a friend of Edward more so than of Edge.

Edward was the most useless character. Rydia was also slightly annoying at the first few levels outside Kaipo, but she quickly recovered from that with her spells.

I vote for that asian guy who kicked. What was his name? He was pretty pathetic. He spent more time dead than that turd Edward.

i voted rydia. although edward is indeed unanimously the suckiest character...ever...you hardly have to use him at all.

But rydia her hp sucks, her def sucks, and it takes an uber long time for her to lvl up cause she cant stay alive for one battle later in the game. when i was going into face zeromus, everyone was lvl 60+, rydia was 35 or somethin

There have been numerous well thought out posts about how bad Edward is. So I'm gonna keep it farily simple:

Come on, just bite me Edward. You suck beyond all that has sucked before. Not since the infamous film "Deep Throat" has anyone or anything sucked so hard. He sucks out loud. He sucks on bread. He sucks. He sucks so bad he made me say sucks, and I don;t like that word.

I hate using Tellah, although he had all the magic and had the ability to use Lit 3 on Cainazzo. He was annoying, had only 99 mp, and I just didn't like using him >.<

Sort of, I like Edward, come on, he was just a prince, did you really expect something better than what he was ?
I really disliked the twins. The girl was terribly WEAK, she died by 2 hits or less....and the boy was a jerk...a WEAK jerk....I wish he had had some more HP, that way he wouldn't have been so bad.
But, the worst thing of all this is that when you have them, you also have Tellah. Come on, a party of 3 mages, a paladin and a monk ??????
Anyone thought about LAME ???....it's nonsense having something like that and also, with the "dead in 2 hits" twins and the " upss I casted cure and now I don't have any MP at all" old man.....the game turns really boring and hard....
Also, sometimes Kain really got on my nerves with all his betrayals....

as far as his character, I'd agree, but as far as someone on my team, I'd take FuSo or Tellah over Yang.

I have no complaint about having Edge though, I saw him as a little bonus. I had my two beaters, and my two magic support, so having him was just a way to kill my enemies faster.

I hate Edge. I can stand Edward's wimpiness, or Tellah's old fartiness, or even Rosa's helplessness, but I cannot stand Edge. He takes arrogance to a new level and thinks that he is the best in everything. Very conceited. He also thinks that the ladies are all crazy for him when they really aren't.

Battlewise, I hate Gilbert/Edward for reasons everyone has mentioned. If you get him to come out of hiding, he doesn't stay long enough for a cure spell to hit him, thus he generally acts like a living blank space in your party when he has low HP. Unlike most people it seems, I never really had a problem getting his songs to be effective. Maybe I'm just lucky. Characterwise I think he's decent at best in that wimpy bard prince sorta way.

Edge, however, annoys me on almost every level. His cockiness sucks (although it sets up hilarious scenes with Cid bossing him around) and his stats aren't on par with most of his fellow ninjas in the series. Sure, he can throw some powerful items, but only at those uncommon times is he all that useful since I like to ration my throwables. While Rosa is bad enough for me to wish her head will abrupty fall off, at least her magic redeems her.

Overall, I'd have to say Edge.

Kain, he was always trading sides, and each time I forgot to unequip him (I know that is my fault but still). He also misses his best friends wedding to hide on a Mt. Ordeals (or some other Mt.). His attack was good too, and his attitude was okay, he did think his friends were going to kill him when he came back. But he destroyed Mist and I can't forgive him for destroying my favorite game character's home, and he didn't even feel guilty like Cecil.

Edward, he seemed so useless and weakly attacked, I don't know why Suqare even made such a horrible character.

I didn't like FuSoYa. Yes, he had all the spells, (Except white, which rules) But he didn't have White. And he died to easy. If the Luner equip., he had was strougher, or more MP maybe, he would of been cool.

I really can't stand Edward.I mean,why did they make such a sissy join the party.First of all,he usually runs away first (Proving his cowardice).Second,those Harps were pathetic.The only way Edward could be stronger is with a Artemis Bow and Artemis Arrows.(Yes,he can equip bow and arrows.Check your FFIV game packs!)And,besides,even way after the Leviathan incident,he still is broken down over Anna's death!I mean,god,anybody else would get over it much quicker!Arrgh,I hate that guy!He just is dead weight taking up space in your party the time you have him!

I hate traitors and Kain is right up there with Yuffie and Cait Seith. It is stated in the game that the mind control was partially voluntary. Not only that but he didn't just fall for it once, he fell for it not once but twice. I might have forgiven him if it were just once but give me a brake. People may not like Edward but at least he never tried to help the bad guys. In addition, I didn't like jump as an ability in this game. By the time he came down in the final battles everybody else died. He couldn't use life potions fast enough before he dropped dead himself. What else was he useful for though? Cecil and Edge both did more damage. I wish I could have had Tellah or FoSoYa instead. I know allot of other people like Kain and that's okay, I just don't.
