I can actually brag about inventing this strategy myself, and I thought I should share it with you, since nobody but me seems to know it. Yet it´s pretty simple.
Most of you know about the pain MagiMaster of Fanatics Tower, who constantly changes his weaknesses and throws Ultima if you manage to defeat him. You also might know about different half-good strategies, like draining his MP:s and stuff like that. However, this strategy will guarantee your victory, as well as make it impossible to lose (seriously!). Just follow the ingenious instructions below: 1. Just to be safe, cast Life3 before doing anything else. 2. Cast Berserk on MagiMaster to change him to a common attacker. 3. Now, this is the good part...hehehe...cast GOLEM! This will protect you from all physical attacks, and if you followed the instuctions, that´s all you´ll need defense from by now. Now, please let your Ultima magics loose, and he´s gone in a few seconds. Try losing with this strategy...it´s HARD! This strategy = ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Peter on 7th October 2004 22:10 -------------------- "Wait!" he says...do I look like a waiter? - Kefka, Final Fantasy VI |

That's how I usually beat MagiMaster - and with very limited use of Ultima. =Þ But good strategy nonetheless.

My strategy was similar, but doesn't require a very high level and is much more time consuming. Berserk him with the first person, use Golem with the second person so that you can protect the third and fourth party members as they use Kirin (just to be safe) and Phantom. Once you're invisible, just osmose the crap outta him and do whatever you can to damage his MP. For some reason, he dies when he runs out of MP, so just take your sweet time damaging his MP. After a while, he'll try Ultima, but since he's out of MP by that point, it doesn't work and he just dies.

I read about a strategy like that in a strategy guide once. :-P

My strategy was cast magic until he died. Took a long time with wall change. Then I made sure I had Shadow in my party, he was the only person that could take a hit of Ultima.
This was before I used any of the "effects" grey magic, and loved the attack command since it was free. -------------------- "Look at me! I'm a receptionist! G'fa ha ha!" Quote Ultros |

Flare=Nonelemental goody bag. Coupled with Life 3.

Yes, that. *Or* you could just equip Wall Rings and have him kill himself. He won't respond with WallChange to his own attacks, so he'll fall pretty quickly. Life3 isn't reflectable, so you can just do that. So long as you don't attack the guy, he'll just kill himself.
Sorry, but all worthwhile strategies have been long since discovered and put to practice ![]() -------------------- |

Or you could buy 99 superballs and rasp him down to 1MP left, and then superball him to death! ![]() Or you could morph/find as many 'magicite' items you can get, and use them all up on him, summoning random espers and hoping for damage-types! Or you could cast berserk on someone with the atma weapon. Or you could muddle everyone in your party while wearing wall rings and watch them bounce spells off each other, invariably killing the magimaster. Or you could... um... chocobop him to death with the slots! wooooo! ![]() |

Quite. I don't think I've even had Ultima to face him... Just Flare and Life3. I used Wall Rings once, but I like a LITTLE challange.

Anyway, casting Beserk on him has been a long known strategy. That's hardly a new strategy. It's great all right, but known world wide. And I myself don't bother to cast Ultima or summon Golem - lesser magics will do the trick.

Yeah, I was doing the Berserk thing back in '94 on my *first* playthrough. Just wait until WallChange puts up a weakness that you like, Berserk him, then use the correct spells.
