Have you checked the walkthrough? That's probably the best place to go for information.
Only tip I can give you is to have Ramza as a Monk with Chakra and Earth Slash. You can successfully kill Galfgarion if you can use Chakra and Wave Fist to beat him. The Earth Slash is for the time when you open the door and can't get to the SUmmoners/Archers/Knights. By the way, the Summoner is your main priority for this battle. Get him first. This is the battle with the Summoner, correct? ![]() -------------------- You know. I think you're a very special unit. |

MathNo. 2 gave you some good advice. Be a monk. You can heal yourself and probably take out gafgarion by yourself. If not, you can heal yourself enough to open the gate and get some reinforcements.
P.S. Do take out the Summoner first. |

Another idea to possibly use in addition to the monk tactic, would be to use a summoner to help keep Ramza healed. They certainly have the range to do it, if you keep Ramza near enough to the gate.

If you have someone who has the Math skill ablity and good magic...It really works well here. Especially if Ramza dies... Math Skill+ Raise? Good combo.

1) Let Ramza learn Teleport and leave Gafgarion till the very end.
2) Use the Blood Sword, if you have it, or settle for Chakra-ing or potions. 3) Break Gafgarion's weapon to stop the Night Swords 4) If you can't do any of those, you might try becoming undead. It's kind of a stupid strategy and probably takes longer to perform than should be necessary, but it also stops the Night Swords. 5) Earth Slash Gaffy from outside the gate, like someone else said. Opening the gate, you can escape and join your other forces, but it's risky, and Gaffy will be hard on your heels. Never tried it, though, but i'm not too fond of the idea of Gafgarion running around killing my other troops.
I can certainly vouch for the Monk with Chakra strategy, though. I beat the battle with that one. One extra thing I had on Ramza was Restore Hp, so sometimes when Gaff Night-Sworded him within an inch of his life, he was back at full hp. That saved me from dying at that level. On the outside, I use Mustadio to take care of the Summoner. If you successfully arm-aim him, you can forget about him for a while. If you don't want to risk missing the shot, shoot him and get some of your other characters to focus on him as well. Your job will be much easier if Shiva doesn't pummel you with magic. The knights are just annoying. They've got quite a bit of Hp, plus they keep breaking your armour, or perhaps even more annoying, your weapon. Their damage isn't too bad either, if i recall. The archers can be a pain, they do enough damage to worry about, so i usually take care of the knights with Agrias and another one while I get some Melee fighters to close in around the Archers, then help Agrias finish off the knights.
