I was just wondering how people got their member names. I use the name Kane all the time. My friends expect it. We all have different ways to spell it so I have to stick with the true spelling (Kane of Runefaust from Shining Force 1). Anyways, I was just wondering what sort of stories all of you have.

Yeah, I bet there were a few eyebrows raised when they saw my name. To be honest, it was just three random things I put together.
Math - Because I like it.
Number - Random, but I abbreviated it.
2 - Just a number I needed.
Yeah, that's the story behind MathNo.2. I use it for Halo and Blizzard Games. smile.gif

Mine is quite simple, if you haven't already noticed. It's kind of obvious where I got my user name. Why I used it is another story, but still, a pretty simple one. I sign online one day and found CoN.com in a search engine when I was looking up information on Advent Children. I saw some interesting posts and decided to reply although I didn't expect to stick around long so even though I'm not a huge fan of Sephiroth I used his name because it wasthe first one that came to mind. Although, it is pretty amazing that it wasn't taken. I would have chosen a different name had I known I was gonna stick around the sight this long, but I guess a name is really nothing more than a way to identify yourself with (to me anyway) and doesn't really have much to say about who you really are so it's not all bad having the name (even though I get labeled as a die hard Sephy fan all the time), but still, if I could go back and redo it I would have chosen another name.

The Silver Fork is one of Quina's weapons in FFIX. No real reason behind why I chose it other than I happened to be playing through the game when I registered and it was the first thing to pop into mind. I only use this handle here; everywhere else I go by Jester something or another or Rattler something or another...the latter of which being sort of a tribute to the first pet I ever had, which happened to be a snake (no, not a rattlesnake...).

Well this is the only place where I use the MM handle. Elsewhere I go By MoogleGenocide. When i was registering i was like- Hey...that popped into my head first. I dunno. biggrin.gif.

As far as not online goes People Took to calling me by my last name. Which in a cruel twist of fate is Brady. Try growing up with that guys? The words Brady Bunch Assaulting you at every turn.

Add that to my First Name- Matthew- And I had every history teacher asking me questions since the first grade. Luckily my grandpa gave me the 411 back in kindergarten. So every year when i walk into history class- Matthew Brady? Ohhh Say do you know...ARGGH. Yeah.

I guess i grew into the name.

MoogleGenocide, is a term i like to use to describe what happened to all the FF6 moogles after the rise of kefka. He must have killed all the moogles so the cleansing of an entire population (Genocide) + The moogles he was acting against. Do the math.

Djibriel is the muslim angel of Truth, called Gabriel in the christian religion. While that seems pretty arrogant now, I learned those things after I chose the nick; the main reason I chose Djibriel is his role in the Satanic Verses of Salman Rushdie.

Quite a few people have asked about it's proper pronunciation. While De-hee-briel has a nicer ring to it, I think Dzji-briel is better when spoken aloud in English. I'm hoping to someday find out it's actual pronunciation, but where do you find a proper Hebrew teacher these days?

My name comes from the game Star Ocean 2. The Eternal Sphere was Claude's (the main character for those of you who haven't played SO2) best weapon. Or second best depending on if you liked his other ultimate weapon the Levantine.

Anyway, I use this name because no one else really uses it. It's also unique and sounds cool. In the case that someone else has already used it (like my aim screen name) I just add a 25 after it, making it eternalsphere25.

Atma... well, it all started at a friend's house. At one point, I was kinda bored, so I started to play Super Metroid. An hour and a half later, I made it to Maridia with all the stuff I could get up until that point. When my friend saw it, he said I was Atma, (used to describe my expertness). Later on, it turned into a nickname for my "ninja skills" in Shinobi (for PS2). I decided I liked that name, and it became my general name for pretty much all games and online stuff.

Hey, some of these stories are really cool. My first nick on the net was Heaven's traveler, then H_traveler, and then everyone would just call me HT, i eventually got bored of it (heaven's traveler, i mean) and decided to change it. That same day i decided to take off the dust of my Sega Genesis and re-finish sonic & knucles (a really cool game, by the way). After the Doomsday zone i watched the titles and saw two names that caught my eye:Hirokazu Something (producer) and Someone Takahashi (the guy who made the music).I said Bullseye! I could change my name and still be HT. I got rid of the Takahashi part 'coz it was too long, and people started to think i was Japanese...

I am the one, the only, origional whocares, often imitated but never duplicated. Lots of people steal my name and it annoys the hell out of me but I started the whole trend. It came from my general apathy towards many stupid things that so many people put so much focus on. Also it comes from my basicly not giving a damn about lots of people. The name originated back about 5 years ago and was first used online on a game called NexusTK.

I called myself the way I did because:
1. The paladin is my favorite job class.
2. It's my online name on my website, along with Shane Stevenson, although Justin is my real name. happy.gif
3. Paladin alone didn't sound very neat, so I added 'Twilight' in front just 'cause it sounds cool....
4. I thought it sounded like a cool name anyway sleep.gif

I had to make a post in this topic. While it may sound like poetic rhetoric or just wanting to sound cool, Tonepoet was one of the nicknames a dear friend gave me. He gave me a few others also but this was my favorite. I asked him exactly how I should spell it capitals, spaces that sort of thing. This was the result. Since then he moved away and I miss him. Luckily, I can still keep in touch with him via internet or telephone and he is a nights drive away if I want to see him. Before anybody asks I am neither musical nor poetic. Actualy I have very little idea why he called me this.

At Yahoo my username is CherryGreenSky and I just made it up to be origanal because Tonepoet was taken. Everything else I could think of was already taken and I would hate to have a number on my name. I currently don't have any other memberships with any other websites and am mostly new to the web. Just got an email address a few weeks ago. I have been browsing for a year though.

Slayer of Yggdrasill is a reference to Lloyd Irving, the main character on Tales of Symphonia, which is the second best RPG ever made (first is the almighty Earthbound). Sorry, but FFVI comes in third.

At the time I registered, I was playing Chrono Trigger like a madman, leveling up to 99 (**) so I could fight the most difficult version of Spekkio. My avatar was also originally Spekkio's final form - a pink Nu (Nus being a race on CT who don't do much except ask you to scratch their back). Anyways, I figured people would recognize Spekkio as his first version - a koala - and not a pink nu, so I put just that: The_Pink_Nu1. I'm not sure why I added on the 1.

Although it would be easier to just check out my site via my sig, I'll give the jist of it here.

Back when I enjoyed reading, I was a fan of Brain Jacques. In his novels, animals basically took the roles of humans and fought in a fantastic setting. I, love to write. So, at the time I had a short story assignment due (this was in grade 5, 8 years ago). I made the raccoon "Racthoh". Over the years, he has changed shapes and form into the elf he is today.

Full name is Racthoh Atoll Demini but I just stick with Racthoh as my handle. Racthoh given to him by the calender god that he worships from Anthor (his homeland, the peaceful land of the elves). His god of worship is the "raccoon" naturally. Atoll translating in the Anthorian text to "Seek closure in vengeance", and Demini "One who has strength of many".

So from this name I have written a lot of stuff, although nothing published except for one short story in my final high school year. Got some positive feedback which was nice. So if you ever see that name in an online game or anywhere, that would be me, Kristopher Pike.
