I started a long time ago with the Shining Force games, and have been a fan of the genre ever since. Thing is, there are so few good ones... at least, there WERE, Now I'm playing Fire Emblem, which is quite intricate yet simple, and it's fun beyond belief. The only flaw is that the most powerful fighter has practically no defense or hit points, and can only attack at point blank- plus when she dies, its game over. =sad.gif= Plus, no matter how hard I try, I cant figure out how to revive dead units. Bleh. This game is an excellent example of why I love strat games though. =happy.gif=

Edit
Eep, this is in the wrong forum! Could the next mod to see this please shift it to'general gaming'? Thanks!

I love Strategy RPGs. I don't know if you gleaned it from my name, but Kane is as in "of Runefaust". Damn, shining force was such a great game.

I've never been much on strategy RPGs (that is, if you mena Tactics style games). I played Tactics Ogre and beat it and played FFT and almost beat it, but they take so long to do so little, and you just do the same thing over and over. You never have puzzles or anything interesting, it's always just walk on the map from place to place 'till you get into a fight, and by the time I bought Fire Emblem I was so tired of that type of game, I dubbed it horrible. So I guess it goes without saying that I voted "Nay."

I assume Tactics was a Strategy RPG, so I voted "Yea." I played Shining Force, but I didn't like it too much. sleep.gif It failed to contain my interest for more than five minutes at a time, so I ultimately dropped the idea of playing any further into it. Tactics was my first Strat RPG, and it was a great one, at that. I finished it on the day before I started 7th grade; it was a perfect ending to a perfect summer. smile.gif I've always wanted to play Advance Wars, though. If anyone's played it, PM me and tell me what it was like. thumbup.gif

Of course yes. My own experience would place FFT as the best I ever played, and Tactics Ogre : Knight of Lodis as the second-to-best.

Yeah I have FFT and FFTA and I really like the both of them but FFT is ungodly hard right now for me, still they are both good games.
