I'd probably still be in school right now if I hadn't withdrawn, but good luck and happy semesters to those that are!

Eh, I've started high school. A lot better than middle school, in my opinion. More freedoms. But, hey, good luck with college.

September 1st. i'm a sophomore, and everyone freaks out when they find out how old i am. they're all, "how can you be a sophomore when you're only 14?" it gets annoying after a while.

I just went back last Friday and I enjoy school more than I did in the past. Probably because I have a job.

I'm going into 10th grade on the 8th, which is a week from now. I'm taking all the regular courses and I have no free periods. It's going to be very hectic this year, and I might not have any free time. In addition, none of my friends are in and of my classes. School is going to suck this year

I've just started my first semester of my first year at Lyndon State... And so far, I really enjoy it far more than high school, if only my true friends were here than it'd be perfect but you can't have it all. Me and my friend here agree that it's like a vacation with minor work to do. It's great

School is a long-lost memory for me. I used to miss the structure of it.... the exact and eternal, never-changing alarmclock setting..... the rigid, never yielding class schedule.... spending 9 months out of the year with your days broken up into nice little one-hour chunks of time.....
But then I graduated high school, and found a new interest. College. Gone was the rigidness that had defined my life for the last 13 years. Gone were the shackles of rank and file that had been forced upon me as my creed during my formative years. Then, I graduated college. Now, I get to enter the workforce. The eternal, never-changing alarmclock setting is back in fine form, though now instead of 7am, it's 6am. The schedule is gone, replaced by deadlines and frantic clients. The teachers are no more, but in their place are a group of HR lackeys and upper-management.... and, ah yes... the cubes of time are replaced with an actual cube. Which I sit in. All day. Have a nice schoolyear, kids! ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Well, classes start tomorrow. I've been here since Monday at UW Whitewater. Definitely a completely different experience. I don't even know what to do with all my time right now. Blah, I'm just kind of lost I guess. At least I already know my roommate. I feel like I should be doing something right now, like school stuff. I don't know. I forgot my alarm clock and crap. At least I'm only about an hour away from home.

Heh. I never realized how early school starts over here.
I go to the local CC, and have been there a few weeks. I graduated from HS last semester, but I took Dual Enrollment. College is much better than HS and HS+College. I'm taking Calculus I, Communications I, and Intro to Computers. Quote (Malevolence @ 31st August 2004 18:08) sucks having my birthday like it is. I started classes up again on the 25th, but really I'm still in the same school year as before summer vacation.
I feel much more confident in the classroom since returning from vacation, both socially and linguistically, and am planning to take the JLPT this coming December. This post has been edited by Phoenix on 23rd October 2019 04:00 |

It's kinda weird, but for the first time in 18yrs, I'm not going to attend school. I graduated from college last year, but I stayed on to keep my job there.
I found a better paying job, so I left. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." "You're a total knee biter." |

Quote How many of us CoNers are back in school? I think the better question would be "How many of us CoNers are not going to school?" This is the second year where the beginning of the school year has no effect on my schedule. It is so nice. I prefer working 54 hours a week (well for a little while at least). Bring on the fall! Starting my fifth and (hopefully) final year of college at UIC, which is going to be different for two reasons.
1. Second semester I'll be doing my student teaching, a little like BGrugby, except hopefully with 3rd graders, not preschoolers. 2. This is the first time in 8 years I won't have cross-country and track to fill my time. I ran out of eligibility, so now I'm just a regular student. I've been playing a lot of basketball lately (which I love) but I still kind of miss the structure of knowing you had something to do at 3:30 every day. I'm also going into grade 10, and I got exactly NONE of the classes I really wanted. I dunno if it can be worse than last year, with me tranferring schools halfway through september, having none of my friends in any of my classes, nearly failing everything and going through two breakups, but life's never failed to prove me wrong about all my assumptions.
