okay a few questions.

1. where do i get excalibur
2. is it possible to get 2 atma weapons without being 2 minutes from beating the game

You obtain the Excalibur sword from defeating Goddess in battle, which, interestingly, is also the statue that you are able to steal the second and final Atma Weapon from.

There is no other way to obtain either sword without the use of a game genie, etc, as far as I know. However, I believe it is still possible to exit Kefka's tower after defeating the three statues and collecting their items.

One time, somebody came up with the theory that the enemies you fight before Kefka were actually the reincarnations of the Statues. Everybody referred to them as being so, and this led to a lot of confusion.

Goddess has no Atma Weapon for steal. The third tier of the final battle (most commonly linked to Goddess) has, but there is no escaping from the battle by any legal means. Goddess has a rare Minerva available, an item you really shouldn't need by now as you probably have two or even more.

But yes, you do receive Excalibur from fighting Goddess.

I didn't even know there was a rumor. I generally refer to the three statues before you fight the big final tower thing as "the three statues," and the big final tower thing before Kefka as "the big final tower thing."

My bad on misquoting the location of the second Atma Weapon; sorry, Bum Rush.

thanks..but i recall running around the world map on my first game ever about 6 years ago with excalibur and atma weapon both equipped on the same character..
maybe i am wrong

You seem to be a little confused.

You can escape the tower after defeating Goddess, and therefore retrieving the Excalibur.

You cannot escape the tower if you are fighting the third tier, and have stolen the second copies of Atma Weapon and Ragnarok.

So yeah, your Excalibur/Atma Weapon combo is highly possible outside the tower.

Dji: that "someone" are really the people who wrote the player's guides way back in '94 (I recall the NP guide makes mention of this, and it's obvious Square was giving them input on the guide since the Allo Ver Rage was correctly listed).

Well, three tiers matches three goddesses, so it's a well-liked theory. There's really no evidence to support it though (although there's no evidence against it either).

Had things been different, there *would* have been some proof against it, though. In an attempt to create a monster which would switch the tiers, they gave it the name of Kefka, which would've been displayed troughout the battle of the three tiers. However, this didn't work out and was left out in the game (see? dummied ).

I knew about the player's guide, but it mentions such huge amounts of false info (or so I've been told, I don't possess it) that one would hardly call it a good source for these things. Isn't this the anomaly that mentions the Thunder Armr as well?

Yes indeed, althought that was more a typo than anything else I think (there was no mention of the Thunder Shld in the armors list, where the Thunder Armr appears). Yet still, there was the incorrect steal/win list and others, though I can't list anything specific because I lost my guide.

As for my avatar, Ejoty... only one of two things becoming available here will convince me to have an avatar again on this forum: a symbol of Yevon avatar or (preferably although as things stand now, it will never happen) a Little Washu avatar. Until then, no avie for me.

okay now i am trying to level up but the tyrannosaurs keep killing me. i just entered the world of ruin about 10 hours ago. i have been spending most of my time getting all of my characters back and raising sabin with the exp. egg the only problem is that he is still attacking low..does the exp. egg have anything to do with it?

What I think you mean is yes, the Exp egg does not add to your offensive power at all. It just doubles the exp you get, that's all.

If you're really stuck, just use control on the Tyrannosaur and keep Bum Rushing it. The Bum Rush won't ruin the control and you'll be A-OK.

actually i just went to kefka's tower and fought 400+ battles there...had to break the curse on the shield and sabin is level 74 now.. everyone else is about level 59-61

My fav way to increase level is have a one person party with the exp egg go into the dinosaur forest. You get better than a level a minute.

This post is an hour after you say you were having trouble in the tyrannosaur forrest. Did you fight 400+ battles in an hour or was Sabin still attacking low on level 74?

i fought 400+ battles in over an hour...i was already at kefka's tower when i started with the sheild so..and no he attacks for 9999 now

you know there is a way to get really good exp i did this awhile ago with 2 exp eggs on terra in the world of ruin u go to kefkas tower "i think its the 2nd of the 3 partys u form" eventuality u find a place where u can fight doom dragons with 2 exp eggs u can get loads of exp i did that intill i was lvl 99 with terra and celes "note i still cant find last dragon for crusadur esper 6 of them" i got 1 in zoros cave where u get cray 2nd in the theater 3rd in narshe on above the mine/mountain 4th in phoenix cave 5th in the magic tower where u find strago 6th

2 of the dragons are found in Kefka's Tower. They're in rooms in the left wing and right wings, so you'll find them with your 1st and 3rd groups.

EDIT: And before asking questions you should check this site. It's more than a message board. I'm sure you can find the info on this site somewhere in the FF6 section.
