How did you battled through each stage of the final battle?¿and how much time did it took you?.

I am asking this because I remember that battle took me 1 hour (probably the worst hour of my life) and took me like 3 trys, I was wondering If everyone got trough the same problems as I.
This was the method I used, notice that my characters were around level 40-45, the Fire 3 and Ice3 were my most powerful magic (yeah, no ultima, no meteo), and got only one character with the Cure 3 and another with the Life3

stage 1
just using all my level 3 magic while having shadow perform X-fight wth a gauntlet every turn

stage 2
pretty much the same, but this time using Osmose to recover my Mp

stage 3
Used Rasp and Osmose to run away the MP of the back and front part to avoid them of using Life, then atacking until both of them are defeated

stage 4
Just praising to the lord that let me make it trough this, and trying to resist that funny atack of Kefka were he does a lot of damage and gives you random status effects

By that time I was going insane and the thought of killing myself got through my mind.

Did everyone got through all this problem?

Is not here a easier way of defeating stage 3?

Terra with extremely high MP, all spells learned, and Gem Box/Econimizer equipped. Then...
Quick, Ultima, Quick, Ultima, Quick, Ultima, etc, etc. Mog was in his 'healing' dance (forget which one that is) and Gau... Stray Cat with a Tempest equipped. 'Nuff said. Edgar just drilled like crazy.

Ehehehe....

It really doesn't matter who you bring or how strong you are. Follow these easy-to-follow steps and you'll be fine.

Immediately take the left (on the screen) hand out with every death-based attack you have. Doom, Air Anchor, whatever you have at your disposal. Then, start pounding Head with your strongest attack. Fire-elemental attacks will have an advantage. Finally, destroy the last remaining part. Make sure you don't waste your Fenrir/Golem yet, as you'll need it later on.

At the second tier, cast Mute/Sour Mouth on the far left target, which will make him useless for the remainder of the battle. Take out the middle target with your death-based attack and then concentrate your attacks on the Tiger, who is the most dangerous of this battle. Then kill the Silenced far left target, then finally the remaining part, Hit. Make sure you have your HP high enough to survive those last 10 Hits he hasin store for you. He won't do anything surprising before that, so this might be a good time to cast beneficial spells such as Safe/Shell/Life3 if you didn't have them yet.

Upon arrival on the first tier, immediately go for the Angel. Once she's down, there's really no special cheap strategy for Sleep, the other part. If you have Gau or Gogo with Rage, might want to try and use Nightshade or Doom Drgn to make his useless. Make sure to summon that Fenrir/Golen now to prevent him from killing 1/2 character after dying.

Kefka is pretty easy, so I won't waste too much time. Joker Doom kills him in one hit, and both Charm and N. Cross work wonders in this battle. By this time you should be equipped with a nice amount of great armor, so surviving his attacks won't be that bad. Shell helps against Goner and you can use Runic to absorb his Ultima should you want to.

My levels were at 45-51 when I first beat the game, and I also just physically attacked the first three tiers, somewhat "saving my best for last". I also put my strongest characters (Shadow, Sabin, Strago, and Terra) last in the lineup. Of course, given how well I pulled off my strategy of only physical attacks and healing magic, I didn't even need to do much to scrap Kefka. I gotta let loose on these guys the next time I play, so I don't get so easily creamed by the second tier.

The last time I beat the game, I didn't really have much of a strategy. Everybody just killed the three tiers dead with Ultima, then I had Terra morph and take out Kefka in one hit.

I actually got all my characters to learn every magic spell from every Esper in the game and had them level up extremely high...above 80, some even 90's. It took almost 70 hours of game play to do so, hard work, but it paid off...and that was on the original SNES version without any game cheats, codes, or walkthrough guides: (internet or otherwise).

When you have a level 99 Sabin with an offering, genji glove, and two tiger fangs on its hard to go wrong. I am a big fan of the spells that heal the party 9999 hp in one go though.

If you're having that much trouble either...
1) Your characters are at a very low level.
...or...
2) You suck at the game :/

Let's just hope its not the latter biggrin.gif

Ending boss was always pretty easy for me... then again it seems all turned based combat RPG's... or RPG's in general... and video games in general... just seem to be ez for me...

I got skillz? biggrin.gif

I actually made all my characters learn every single magic attack and raised them up to level 50. All I did was have almost everyone use ultima, terra morph, sabin use bum rush, and shadow throw imp halberds. I didn't remember the final boss being too hard though.

Edgar, Terra, Mog, Gogo: Dblcastinging Ultima (Knowing ALL Magic Rawks!), consecutevely, but I use Haste2 on Party first though. If My characters get low on MP I use Osmose on the Final Boss.

Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Life 3, Ultima, and just for good measure, Ultima. =)

Granted, when Sabin or Shadow were in my party there'd be a Bum Rush or Tack Star thrown here and there, that was mostly my strategy. But then again, with all of my characters over level 70 no boss was really a challenge at that point. happy.gif

Gogo
Terra
Edgar
Sabin

Once Terra and Gogo have haste 2 and quick casted. The Genji Gloved/Offering equipped Sabin. Goes in and does the damage. Edgar uses the Air Anchor whenever neccecary and uses the drill or autocrossbow otherwise. Gogo and Terra mope up the mess and heal the crew.

I left Relm and Gau out of the fights. They SUCK, period.

I had my weakest characters fight first, and strongest last.

First Statue:

Stargo- For magic. Haste2, Life3, Cure3, occasionally Ultima.

Mog- Just did whatever he could to help. Most of the time, he died rather quickly. And his dances were useless.

Edgar- Just there for Ultima.

Umaro- What? I had to put him SOMEWHERE.

Second Statue:

Setzer- Consecutive Mega Flares.

Shadow- Tack Stars, weapons. Incredible damage. And when he ran out of things to throw, he had the Genji Glove.

Sabin- Genji Glove. Life3, Haste2, Cure3.

Cyan- Genji Glove, Offering. Just there.

Third Statue, Kefka:

Terra- Gem Box, Economizer. Ultima/Quick. Haste2, Life3, Cure3.

Locke- Genji Glove. Serious physical damage. Illumina.

Celes- Like Terra, Economizer. But since there's only one Gem Box, I give her Marvel Shoes. Uses Quick and Ultima.

Gogo- To mimic Terra and Celes.

My levels were more or less at level 60. Cyan attacked, Celes casted spells like Ultima, Quick, Life2, Cure3, Sabin used Bum Rush and Gogo used Mime.

I didn't have much of a strategy when I first beat Kefka. I had 1 person with ultima, and everyone else was below level 50. I basically just used fight, bum rush, and chainsaw.
I had Cyan with dragoonboots and dragon horn, which dodged all of Kefka's attacks. In the end, it was just luck that saved me (and 6 effin' hours)

Well, this is probably the coolest tactics of ´em all:

1. Pick a character and raise his/her Strength (=Vigor) as much as possible.

2. Equip the character in question with the best weapons, as well as an Offering and a Genji Glove (you probably get it by now).

3. That´s right! Hack away at Kefka with the character. This deals a total damage of: 9999 * 8 = 79992 DMG. biggrin.gif

Locke and celes had ultima by this time... I had shadow throwing stuff and I think I used mog... He probably had ultima by this time.
When I do It now I have Locke attack 8 times 9999 each >.>
Celes casts ultima and whoever else I have casts ultima.

The first time I dd it I had a little trouble but not much. I kinda rushed a bit through the game.

The last boss of ff6 was too easy. The first time I played the game I had rented it and loaded a random file. I steped through that little hole in the floor and randomly picked people. None of the people I used were that strong and I beat it in under a half hour. I usually just kill the hell out of it though tongue.gif There isn't much need for a stratagy more complex then kill, heal, repeat as needed.

Um, yeah. I beat FF6 so many times I forgot what strategy I use. I just hit him and stuff. He's that easy.

I basically mess around on the last boss because he really can't hurt me. I use offering and genji glove to test how much I can actually hit him for and sometimes ultima when I'm bored. Otherwise when your at level 99 with 4 characters he really isn't all that hard

for the final battle/s i used thse charaters/relics/spells/items
note: i equip 3 charaters with fire sheilds and 1 with paliden sheild(cursed sheild after you battle tons of guys to remove the curse)

Terra - X-magic,Wall Ring / Metron
Celes - Earrings, Wall Ring / Metron, Life 3 (occasionaly)
Strago - Sprint Shoes, Wall Ring / Metron, Life 3 (occasionaly)
Mog - Moogle Charm, Wall Ring / Metron (occasionaly), Life 3 (all the time) / Any MP reovery items

my reason for this setup is that i use the mages to cast metron to do serious damage anyone (the top part of the tower, just before you fface kefka in his fallen angel form, i use normal spells and atacks). the reason i dont use potions on these battles is the metron spell (hint the sheilds tongue.gif Fire = HP absorb:) ), Life 3 is nice since the while fighting up the tower you WANT to keep your fav team. Mog is the item dude if this fight I occasionaly cast spells with him but i use him to refill everyone MP. i did this at lvl 40 - 45 and the fianl fight with kefak took me lik 5 - 10 min to beat.

I try not to beat the end boss the same way over and over, so usually when I enter battle I randomly pick characters with the thought of 'KILL IT!! KILL IIIIIT!!!" and go from there. tongue.gif

I think it took me my average time of final boss beatdown of 5-7 minutes. Basically all you do is use your healer to keep your party alive and toy with the guy. biggrin.gif

I got all of my characters to level 30-40, cept Shadow, Sabin and Edgar, and taught everyone Ultima.
Then I Started Ultima-ing like crazy, and killed and killed.
It was pretty easy when I was fighting Kefka, but the deformed statue thing sucked for me.

I honestly don't remember having a real 'strategy' for any of the FF final bosses except for Zeromus and Exdeath, since to me those two are the only ones challenging enough to demand one (and possibly FFIIIj's Cloud of Darkness, but that's just due to some occasional stupidity rather than difficulty).

Still, I usually have a good round 'o Ultima x 500 (give or take a few hundred), Cure3 every other turn, physical attacks, and chucking every single item that can be thrown. Lather, rinse, repeat. Because I'm cheap. cool.gif
