So most of the attacks in this FF make SOME sense. The magic looks like magic, the enemies with fangs have attacks like "fang" and etc.

So then out of a sudden you get Strago's best lore, the "Grand Train"

What? Does that hulking monstrocity call a train? From where?

How in the world? Is it like summoning the ghost train? or like an esper or something?

I'm willing to bet that its just poor translation laugh.gif Could be wrong though, since I haven't played the japanese version and don't speak the language.

It's indeed a mistranslation from what I remember. The real name of the spell is "Grand Trine", or something close to that. That'd accurately explain the triangle and stars that appear in its animation.

Hey, good thinking, SilverFork! Trine is a pretty good Enemy Skill (Blue Magic) in FF7, so you're probably right.

trine is an electric-based magic spell

Well, in this context it means 'three' (hence the triangle animation) and/or the celestial definition (which, like I said before, explains the stars).
