Pretty Nice! I'm a Launcher effect fan myself.
I wonder... make Shock a single target with Launcher effect... gasp! |

Quote Caesar, I don't know what kind of PC you have going on but I think I should warn you that adding the Launcher effect in complicated animations will really slow down the game. On my PC anyway. Don't worry, Djibriel, I've experienced and learned from that before. I tried it with meteo once...baaaad idea. Same with flare. However, it works with Golbez's meteo since I removed the value in byte 11 that multiplies the number of meteors (i think it was byte 11...it might've been 12 and 13). However, it works fine with the thunder, since it is basically the bolt 3 bolt, plus another bolt, plus the circle. Not slower at all. 6th Lime: Making Shock single-targetted won't change the animation...It's a full screen effect. Adding the launcher effect would either freeze the game, slow it down greatly, or do absolutely nothing. None of these options are beneficial, so I probably won't try it. -------------------- Is PJ |

Drat. Well.... here's a thought.... since TekMissile is now a doubleuse, and MagiTek Armor is (normally) useless, how 'bout...
Missile Pod: TekMissile with Launcher! Also, a few spell ideas! Antimatter: Lightning Beam (Magitek), in a spell! Surge: Casts Haste, Shell, Reflect, Barrier... and Doom! DragonBreath: Firebeam! (I think the magitek one'd work great) FinishingBlow: Character automatically uses their Desperation Attack- but is removed from the battle! -------------------- Uwao. aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! You couldn't make Finishing Blow because the game can't differentiate between which character is using it. You could, however just make a Finishing blow move that does one specific attack.
You can make it using the Exploder effect (I think it's exploder, it was one of the Lores). Edit I just thought of something interesting. If you have 14 free items, you could make a special weapon for each character that randomly casts their desperation move. By the way are you changing their desperation moves? I've been getting a lot of questions about desperation attacks. I will have to change Tiger Break (I think that's the one...with Sabin) since it would be very weird to see a Ghost change into Sabin and kick the enemy. Although with the instant-heal blitz, his desperation attack won't get too much use, in my opinion. It will still be changed, though. The others will probably stay the same. Unforuntately, 6th Lime, I don't have 14 free items, and even if I did, you can't have an item randomly use a desperation attack...I'm quite sure they can only use spells up to Palador...which means no Lores, no Magitek attacks,no slot attacks, no dance attacks, no enemy attacks, and no desperation attacks.
![]() Actually, WGG, Finishing Blow would be very possible, of course, using one constant attack only, like 6th Lime said. I can easily have it kill the caster, though (just like my possess skill!), although I'm not exactly sure when it would be used, since you can instantly kill yourself and the target using Ghost-Sabin. -------------------- Is PJ |

What if you made sabin's/the ghost's desparation attack a possess like ability. Still instakilling whatever it hits, but instead of removing the ghost permanently, it's just removed from battle.
It's not like it will be abused or anything, seeing as you almost never see a desperation attack anyway. |

Sabin's Possess blitz already works like that, 6th Lime. Otherwise, it would be to dangerous to use (not to mention screw quite a few scenes)

WGG: Correct me if i'm wrong, but the Blitz version doesnt bypass death. The desperation i'm talking about would bypass death, making an automatic instakill move. Like Joker doom but on one enemy. And by bypassing death I mean, you could instakill Kefka with it.
Caesar: Another reason that the 14 weapons wouldn't work is that if someone equiped the merit award, they could use other peoples Desperation attacks. Oh well so much for that idea. I did come up with another idea, that I had posted in a different thread just now. What if you were to make the final battle so that you fight improved versions of some of the bosses in the game, replacing the enemies such as Girl, Face, Left arm, Right arm, ect. You could throw in a pumped up Vargas who uses Blizzard Fist on you (but it just does damage, and maybe hp leak, and besides the animation is already there) and Doom Fist (Condemmed) and maybe some other abilities. No body knows what happened to Vargas, he just kinda faded away, and we assume he died, or whatever (there was a thread on this I believe). And throw in some other bosses like maybe a stronger Pugs and a stronger Cactuar. Maybe another Atma, but 3 Atmas is quite a few. Or maybe put Sabin fighting against you (after all, you DID replace him with a ghost... maybe he wants vengance). Just to make that fight more difficult, and of course, more fun! |

I think it'd be very fitting if you swapped Setzer's desperation attack with Gogo's, so Golbeze can have X-Meteor.... very Meteo-esque. Whatever gambling-oriented move Setzer has now won't be very appropriate for our darkly-clad pal.
Hmm, I'm also wondering what you've done with Ragnarok and Illumina, if anything. Are they still the best weapons? And have you considered making a special 'ultimate' armor or weapon for each character that can all be found somewhere in the WoR, in an area specific to that character's storyline? The 6th Lime: You can remove the possibility of using the merit award on a final weapon by turning off the "Heavy Gear" bit in the item editor in Lord J's editor. It's the last bit of the byte of whom can equip this?
So, Ceasar, do you still need ideas? And anybody, do you know if there's a thread on this site to ask questions about hacking for dummies? I wanna start some hacking (nothing big, cuz I won't finish it, I know myself). -------------------- «À l'aventure compagnons, je suis parti vers l'horizon! Wow I haven't updated in awhile...
6th Lime: I definitely won't make a desperation attack that bypasses death protection. This is one reason why: Get ghost to near-fatal, cast haste and wall on him, equip him with the gilgamesh armor and helm (absorb 50% all, high mag block), equip another character with the entire penguin set and give him the true knight relic. Also, equip Ghost with a low-accuracy weapon. Now, he can only be damaged by unblockable non-elemental attacks. Simply keep attacking until you instant-kill the enemy. Extremely cheap, especially on the WEAPONS. I might make his desperation attack an instant kill on all enemies without death protection, since a lot of the later bosses have it, so you can't use the cheap method above. In addition, the final battle plan has been made...it will be Chaos, Zeromus, Ex-death, and Final Kefka in that order. Purify: I'm not sure what Setzer's desperation attack is...I might have to make it a rage for Gau to find out. If it's not suitable for Golbez, I'll be sure to think of some sick attack, don't you worry. The ragnarok and illumina will stay as they are for now. I'm against changing any classic Final Fantasy weapon (ragnarok, excalibur, excalipur, etc.). There sort of IS ultimate armor...the Gilgamesh armor and helm, and the Penguin armor, helm, and sheild. It will be very difficult to find, but it will be worth it. Goonies: I'm ALWAYS looking for ideas, I've just been busy recently. Whenever I find ones that I really like or will include anyways, I write them down. Eventually, I'll do a few hours straight of just adding new spells, enemies, items, etc. I might PM you later with some hacking programs if I find the time. -------------------- Is PJ |

Enemy Ideas!!
Rorrim: Uses 'Mimic' EVERY turn. Never encountered alone. No idea for a graphc though. Pardian: Uses either 'Sunbath' (I think. The one from Mog's dance), Cure3 (All enemies), or Escape. And here's on I'm nt sure if its possible, but would make for one hell of a battle... DarkSide: Removes 2 characters from battle automatically- then BECOMES the remaining member- stats, spells, equipment, EVERYTHING. Would hafta be either amazingly rare, or a boss. -------------------- Uwao. aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! Let's travel together! |

WGG, I love the DarkSide idea. Just the idea of fighting one of your own party members is good enough for me. Or perhaps running into the ghost of Leo in the WoR? Fighting against him would be so cool, not to mention rather challenging.

Mmm. Ex-Death looked pretty cool. Actually he kinda reminds me of Golbeze... probably just the size of the sprite and what not.
As for Zeromus, you're not going to add in that item are you? I cant remeber the name of it, but you get it in FF2 and when you use it, Zeromus becomes weak, and the fight becomes super easy. You know the one... |

6th Lime: You mean Dark Matter? Of course not. This is supposed to be an extremely difficult fight.
![]() WGG: I could make Rorrim very easily...I could have him have TONS of HP and only die by a certain attack. Has possibility. I don't know if DarkSide is possible or not.... Edit Thanks to Djibriel, the Coin Toss relic now changes slot into shock. Very useful for Golbez...now all I have left to do is make it strong enough to be worth the switch and give General Leo some weak substitute. Thanks, Djibriel! You've going to have an extremely hard time doing that. I would advice the easiest option, which is marking the "no split damage on multible targets" bit positive. It won't help Leo in his fight as he'll be attacking one enemy anyway, and it will make this Shock twice as powerful in multi-target circumstances then the old one.
And keep in mind that Gau and Gogo can use Shock by Raging Retainer. Last note: The Shadow Edge was called whatever is Japanese for 'Dark Matter' in the Japanese version. So that would make the Dark Matter item already in-game. Perhaps have him respond to the Image status? This post has been edited by Djibriel on 5th August 2004 23:03 -------------------- |

You're right; I like your idea much more. I don't mind Gau and Gogo being able to rage it...they can rage plenty of other good attacks, so I'm not worried. Plus, I doubt anybody would even notice the "no split damage" switch, if we hadn't brought it up here. Hmmm....I suppose I COULD have Zeromus respond to the image status. Maybe add a text message in there mentioning Dark Matter and then he kills off the member with image (what, you thought I was actually going to put a weakness in one of my creations?). BTW, I have some INCREDIBLE ideas planned for the final battle. It is going to be a disgusting battle, that's for sure.

Enemy Ideas 2!!
DARKFORZE: There are several different versions of this. Eaach appears to be a PC. You can encounter people not in your party though. The different DarkForzes may only be encountered ONE TIME. They use an attack pattern that is logical for who they mock (i.e, D.F.Terra uses only Magic, and has ALL spells, D.F.Edgar uses Tools, D.F. Gau uses Stray Cat rage) This post has been edited by Wind God Gau on 5th August 2004 23:46 -------------------- Uwao. aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! Let's travel together! |

Great, I'm glad you were able to get the Shock relic in there. Another command came to mind: Summon. Kefka apaprently had it, and it allows you to summon an esper infinite times in battle. I was wondering if you planned to do anything with that command for another character...

WGG, that's a very good idea. However, I'm running out of battles/enemy slots to put it in (3 more for the WEAPON battle, and 9 more for the fianl battle....even though there are only 3 enemies). If I can find room, I'll consider making it a battle (can you imagine fighting a battle against Ghost-Sabin, the Penguin, Edgar, and Terra? That wouldn't last long at all!)

You can always delete non-invincible guardian battle script to insert some "PC script".
Idea: Final Kefka should summon some Espers. And will your 8 dragons call each other? It would be cool, and more difficult. And can someone PM me to tell me where in the game (what hex adress) you can adjust the speed (walking or running) of character without using Game genie codes. Because, I want to always have sprint shoes effect. I find the walking speed too slow, then I always turn on the fast forward zsnes function. So, battles become less interesting and I lose interest in playing etc. I'm sure I'm not the only one... -------------------- «À l'aventure compagnons, je suis parti vers l'horizon! WGG, you mean like the "trouble" status ailment in FFIX? Again, I question is plausibility...maybe Djibriel could help...as usual.
![]() Goonies, I had never intended on having the dragons call each other, but I suppose it may happen. Maybe if you take too long I'll have one of them summon another. Don't get your hopes up, though: it's impossible to have more than 6 enemies in one formation, so don't expect to see all 8 dragons in one battle. I'm unsure where you would find where you are looking for, sa far as permanent sprint shoes effect...you could do the easy way and make it so that EVERY equippable item gives that property using FF3ME, but that'd take awhile and I'm not sure what your attention span is like. Purify: I never planned on making Summon a command for anybody, either. Also, since there is a targetting bug in it, some espers don't work correctly. I forgot who was working on that patch, but I don't think it is completely bug-free yet. -------------------- Is PJ |

Ohhhh I see. Well...I'm still not sure if it can be done. BTW, I forgot that the WindFang had a built-in counterattack, so Gau was hit without me realizing it, and then he just went berserk...he counterattacked once for each enemy and used the air blade wind once and W Wind twice...amazing. Sooo I don't think we have a problem anymore.
