Okay I just recently had an idea: to play through FFT using characters modeled after those who participated in the Trojan War. The side I would be controlling would of course be the Greeks, Danaans, etc. That being said, here is an outline of what i have so far:

-Main character (his name evades me right now) --> Homer (Will eventually become a calculator with both black and white magics for different battles)

The rest will all be male characters hired from the soldier office:

-Diomedes (A strong hand-to-hand fighter...class undecided)

-Ajax, son of Telamon (Knight, sword and shield)

-Teucer (Archer)

-Ajax, son of Oileus (Theif, ninja...will have high evade, move, and speed stats)

-Achilles (Monk, only because I percieved Achilles to be a Barbarian and I think attacking an enemy with nothing but your fists would fit this description)

-Patroclus? (Exactly like Achilles if I decide to include him)

-Ulysses (No idea here...he has been described as very handy with both a spear and a bow, and also for being very wise. Part of me thinks he should me a summoner, with the summoned creatures sort of representing gods)

-Nestor (Most likely a mage of some sort since he was depicted as very wise as well...maybe an oracle)

-Menelaus (Not sure)

-Agamemnon (Not sure)

That's all I have so far. Please leave suggestions and/or let me know if I forgot anybody. Also, if there are any monsters similar to a water elemental (like from Warcraft I), then Menelaus or Agamemnon could become trainers, and the water elemental could become Scamandros. I'm not sure if there is such a monster, though.

Edit: Added Nestor

I love doing theme based teams in tactics. The Trojan War seems as good a theme as any, I suppose. A bit too much thinking is involved in that for me to really home in on it right now. happy.gif

How about making a team of Spartans, with Ramza being the Spartan king, Leonidas? Or a team of rebel slaves led by Spartacus? Anyway, I'm wandering. Tell us how you finally decide to set up the team, if you decide to go through with it.

Will do, Hamedo. I haven't really put it into action yet...been busy with my hack and with the newly acquired SSBM, but the concept I have is pretty brilliant. I'll get back to you if I ever start it.
