Cast Berserk on the MagiMaster, limiting him to the fight command, doing a mere 100 damage, or so. This makes for an easy win, especially for a low leveled group. To make it even easier, cast vanish on all of your party or simply use the phantom materia. You still have to use life 3 on yourself to prevent Ultima from beating you, of course.

I realize that this doesn't have to do with the MagiMaster, but another fun and interesting thing that at least I don't do often, but very much enjoy doing is turning things into Imps. I never laughed so hard as the first time I turned a Behemoth into one of those little ugly guys!

I've heard of this one before, but you can also Rasp him to death.

...In fact, you could Berserk him, Vanish yourself, and then Rasp away at his MP until he has none, in which case he'll simply die and fail to cast Ultima doing it. Brilliant! </Guiness guys impression>

Sorta straying off topic here, but for whatever reason the game designers seemed to be very fond of giving many bosses immunity to all status except for one or two like with the MagiMaster. Poltrgiest can be stopped, Presenter can be killed by instant death, 'Magic' can be muted. There's probably plenty more but I can't think of any at the moment.

Yeah, I wondered why I insta-killed the Presenter with the Chainsaw.

Another one is you can insta-kill the tentacles in the engine room when you first go to Figaro Castle in the WoR.
