What is the rarest (i.e., most uncommon) Rage you ever learned?

I learned White Drgn once; since then, I have never seen the White Drgn on the Veldt again. In terms of sheer rarity, I am sure there are rarer Rages, but this is the one that struck me as the rarest as I was playing.

I've Raged them all at some point...never all at once, though. There was this one play-through where I missed only Doberman, and it turned out that I had for some reason never opened the corresponding chest.

Yeah, I was pretty furious then. 'Twas only days later I learned of a way to edit him into the game and Rage him anyway, but then, of course, I had started a new game.

Hmm.... well, I think I somehow glitched out my game once, and got this REALLY weird Rage... The name was garbled, but the attacks were recognizable. Kefka.
Non-glitchied, I've always gotten all rages. No matter how long it takes. I'm a Gau fanatic.

You know what, I'm pretty sure I've had all of the ones mentioned so far. Definitely White Dragon and Doberman and loads of Mag Roaders.

I'm not really sure what's rare, but I only got about 3/4 of them. It took me a while to get Prussian and Acteon (sp?). Maybe I have rare ones and don't know about it.

Are the same ones rare every time, or does something make it easier for certain monsters to show up on the Veldt (besides fighting them elsewhere)?

I always have a hard time getting Io, but I spend as long as it takes, because it's my favorite rage (duh, check my name). I never had a hard time with white dragons, though.

I actually come across White Dragon a lot. More often than is necessary, really. In fact, the thought of it being rare is foreign to me, I come across it so often.

I guess the rarest would have to be Io, though I think I may have gotten Pug or Pugs, once...

I take my other answer back, it is now Flans. I have been walking around for like 3 hours now.... Roar!

BTW, there are 255 rages in total right? I have a list that says 255 but just making sure. (I don't think that I fought a Flan so I have to start the game over from the end of the WoB for the third time...)

Every time I find some rare creatures Umaro always kills them before Gau can leap.

I still can't do it. I have fought every monster in the WoB but can't get Rider or others to appear. Someone said before that there was a pattern that they appear, I have noticed the pattern. Each fight comes from a different segment of the game, and you can't run from some of them!

The problem is, during the Rider sequence it is one of about 13 monsters that you fight, and to begin with I would say that I have less than a 1% chance of finding that sequence to begin with... dang... less than .1% chance finding him and I'm only dealing with the WoB monsters! Is there any way to get those single-boss-type monsters appearing more? Or is it total chance? sad.gif

You definitely want to read that, then hit up the FF6 section for the Veldt monster finder should you be playing on an emulator.

Well, I've gotten 251 of the rages before, so I guess my answer is "all of 'em."
I do remember Junk was hard to find, though.

sad.gif It still doesn't help. While the list gives me the knowledge to know when I could possibly get Rider, there is no way to make it happen faster.

I tried saving two groups before his group, so that way the first group I fought would be always the same, thinking that the second group would differ, but they are always the same monsters too. So I have to go all the way through the list again.

And as for starting 13 groups away from where I left off if I reload, it hasn't happened when I died, reset the game, or turned it off. sad.gif All I can do is keep reseting until I get to Rider's group and hope that I'm lucky.

Amazing job on the page though! I also always wanted to know the differences between the hero ring/atlas arment. wink.gif

And here is the remaining explaination from Djibriel:

Quote
About your post on the Rage question:

Fighting a battle OFF the Veldt will re-shuffle the battles, so all you need to do is save just before the group with the needed monster in it and see if it appears. If not, load, fight a battle outside of the Veldt and save. Repeat until he appears.

Of course, if you're fighting on the Veldt in the WoB before you get the Blackjack, this strategy can't be used.

And yes, the Cave of the Veldt counts as a location off the Veldt, and can be used for this.

Happy Hunting.

Thanks again Djibriel!!! (I found Rider!!)

Doom Dragon was rare for me. A valuable rage to have when you first get Gau in the WOB is Templar. Its Fire 2 is very effective.

I always forget which enemies I've fought before, so I don't know which ones will show up for me to rage.

Augg, this one time though, I was trying to get Chaser, it kept showing up while Gau was gone, and Gau would never show up after I defeated it. He'd always show up after I killed something he had already gotten the rage for. pinch.gif
