I'm just wondering if you have any weapons (guns, swords, knives, etc.), what kind, and whatever else you'd like to share about each one.

My sister's B/F is Asian, and he's a very nice guy, and since he had some old swords and knives he didn't want anymore, guess who he gave them to?

Katana (nice scabbard, eh?)
A funky duct-taped Japanese knife
A nice little hunting knife

I also have a powerfu Crosman air rifle that you could call a weapon, but I don't have a picture handy. When I do, I'll edit it into this post.

I have a feeling our resident scotsmen will have some fun with this topic...

i got a nice hunting knife, a switchblade that i leave at my house, a 12 guage, 30-06, and my baby, my coda stick(perfect for crackin ankles and such).

EDIT:btw, the guns are pretty much for show. and the knives never get any use

EDIT 2.0: i aquired the coda stick from the trunk of my friend James' Geo Prizm. when he found out that i had, he hit me with it one good time and then let me have it. good guy...sorta.

until last year, i was the proud owner of a DD-44 Dostevei (yes, the one and same pistol in "Goldeneye"). While my dad was in the navy and stationed in Russia, he picked it up and gave it to me when I turned 13. I sold it to the local gun store and got $500 credit to the store... but I can't spend it unless I'm accompanied by someone over 21 ... or unless i turn 21 first, whatever....

I do not have any weapons with me in my home in New York. I left them all with my parents.

I have a Bersa semi-automatic .22, which is a replica of a Walther PPK (or whatever the new model of the PP is called);
I've got a Smith .22 revolver;
A Smith .38 revolver;
My dad and I share ownership of a .44 Magnum longbarrel revolver by Ruger and a Chinese SKS rifle (the Chinese version of the Kalashnikov);
a couple old .22 long rifles;
A Remington 3600 semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun;
A Remington pump-action 12-gauge shotgun, the first gun I ever hunted with;
Some generic boot-knife with a serpentine blade;
And my pride, a Japanese officer's sword from Okinawa in World War II.

Kindly forgive if I have any model numbers wrong. The guns, as I said, are not here.

Hunting what? Anything that you could reliably bring down with a .22 is illegal to "hunt" where I come from unless it's a pest creature.

I have a katana and a tanto, both not sharpened.
I also have a combat knife I bought years ago in Greece (can't remember any occasion when I needed that one...), some pocket knives (Opinel, Victorinox and Laguiole), and a very good looking swithcblade my father found lying on the streets when he was a teenager.
Not a single person in my family has any gun.

He also has a one handed sword (i used to have a picture of it but i can't find it)

ive dropped more deer with a .22 than anything else ive ever hunted with. hitting in the heart isnt the only way to kill something.

as for things i actually own and hold onto are my 4" black fighting knife, and my remington 870 marine magnum. i keep it simple.

Well, then that's pretty impressive. Still illegal where I come from, IIRC, but impressive. smile.gif

Twin daggers, each with a bone blade, and the hilts contain a one-shot Co2 gun, normally loaded with a tranq dart.
2 gauntlets,with back-sweeping armblades. Think Zora Link, from LOZ:MM.
3 pairs of gloves, each with palm spikes
50 shuriken
20 bladed cards
1 Morningstar
1 Military flail
A lucern hammer
Longbow, with 20 sheaf arrows
Crossbow, 10 regular bolts, 3 custom-made exploders.
Blowgun, 20 regular darts, 5 'pill darts' (front half mercury fulminate, rear RDX plus streamer to make sure MF hits first)
And of course, a buckler. =happy.gif=
Edit
*facepalms!* How could I forget this! I just bought a wakizashi today!

All I have is a old Civil War officer sword which set me back a few dollars. It is still in decent shape and sharp enough to stab someone. Other then that I just got these ole fist o mine (stole that quote from Zell in FFVIII) and that is all I need.

This is a common three sword set. There is a katana (longest), wakizashi (shortest), and something else. I'm not sure what it is. I think it might be a Ninja Sword.

This is weird Fantasy Sword I got recently. It has a double cross-guard and a double finger guard, which is strange. If this was in a movie or something, I have no idea how it wuld be used. The double finger guard causes the only comfortable way to hold it to be where swinging it requires you to strike the target with the flat of the blade. You could turn it diagonally, but that would limit your blows to one type and one direction.

Throwing Star

A hunting knife. Called the "Flying Dragon."

A Napoleanic Dagger. If you look closely (depending on the quality of the pic (my laptop screen isn't as good at displaying pics as normal ones)) one side of the grip has a pic of Napolean and the other side has Caesar.

[http://darkpaladin.sphosting.com/NapoleanicDagger2.JPG]

Here is a perfect example of why you should never buy weapons off of ebay. The sword is half-way decent, but the scabbard bites. It came with some plastic piece that keeps the blade from wearing out the tip of the scabbard, but at the same time, scratches the tip of the blade.

I also have various pocket knives from when I was a Boy Scout.

I bought it cause I am a historian I collect historical artifacts. Since it is a sword it is considered a weapon. But as I said all I need is my fist, no offense, but that is all a real man needs.

I have Ruger Vaquero .45 revolver. That's my baby. I also have an INTERPOL tactical knife and various hunting knives. I used to own a pistol-grip Mossberg 12-gauge, but I stopped doing weekend turkey shoots, so had no need for it and sold it.

Quick little story about the .45.....

I was 22 and just became a father, so I wanted a gun in the home for protection for myself and my family. I go with my dad to our local gun shop and start looking around. The owner of the store (who is the stores only employee, i might add) asked my why I wanted a gun. I told him for protection, and that the gun would stay in my home and be used only for home defense. I then asked him what he recommended. He relayed the following story.

"Son you can get anything from a .22 target pistol to a .50 Desert Eagle in here. I'll let you decide for yourself what you want, but here's the difference between them. If you get a .22, lets say, and someone breaks into your house and you shoot them, say, in the shoulder... the .22 bullet is small and rickochettes (sp?) once inside the body, so it may or may not render the arm useless. It certainly won't "stop" the invader, unless you put one in the chest or neck or head, and even then it's not a guarantee. Now, let's say you get a .45 and shoot the guy in the shoulder. His arm will be destroyed. There is a small chance, in fact, that his arm will be left hanging by a few threads of skin. This will "stop" an invader. If you put one in the solar plexus, neck, or head of the intruder, chances are you will have a dead intruder. Period. So, whaddaya want?"

I took the .45, for obvious reasons.

Alot of anti-gun friends gave me crap after I bought the gun, saying if I wanted to protect my family, why would I put a gun in my home. As a husband and father of two, I can't see not having a gun in my home, with so many loved ones to protect inside of it.

Hamedo, do you know how many kids blow random body parts off of themselves because they found a gun in the house and played with it? But I digress, most people keep their guns locked and unloaded.

I used to have a beautiful scottish sword, that I used to practise the sword dance with when I was little and in Highland Dancing (you dance around two swords). Unfortunately, this was something that was to go to my cousin on his wedding day (the oldest of my grandmother's grandchildren), and he was married about 8 years ago, so I had to give it up.

A Claymore?

I have a pair on nunchakus that my teacher refers to as a toy because nuchakus are probly the easiest thing to disarm. I have three staffs, an escrima bo, a 5 foot tall bo and a large bamboo bow roughly 3 inches in diameter that I rarly leave the house with. Bhudda used an 8 foot stick. I also have a 30.06 rifle. I love rifles.

Where did that statistic come from? If it's 2am and I hear something in my house and go to check it out... it ends up being a person with a knife or gun or bat or whatever... how do I have a 57% chance of hitting a family member? Chances are that my 7 month old will be behind me in the bedroom asleep, as will my 4 year old... (if my 4 year old heard something go bump in the night, he wouldnt get up to investigate. he would cower in fear under his covers, as would most 4 year olds)

Elena, I totally understand your fear. It's a fear I have, too, as well as probably any parent who owns a gun. It's locked away, far out of the kiddies reach. I do keep it loaded, though. If the instance ever came where I had to use it, unlocking it and loading it as well would take so long that it would really defeat the purpose of having it in the first place.
